Failed to communicate that the car we wanted was sold! I was extremely disappointed with their service. We test drove a used Lexus NX which we liked and later went in to buy the car. We wanted to buy the c I was extremely disappointed with their service. We test drove a used Lexus NX which we liked and later went in to buy the car. We wanted to buy the car through financing, but since we had recently moved from Canada to the US, we didn't have any credit history in the US. Because of this situation they had to send the paperwork to Lexus corporate office to get an approval. We kept checking back with them about the status of the financing and they kept saying they should have a reply within 2 days. This process went on for 2 weeks. Their main reason for the delay? "It's been a very busy month sales have been up 35% since last year." (December 2017). Finally we got tired of waiting for these guys and went to Bank of America and they said they could approve us for a decent interest rate (~4%), they just wanted a intent of purchase letter from the dealership. So I called our contact at Lexus and said we need that letter, a few mins later he calls me back and says the car was sold. I then asked him if the car was sold today. He says "no it was sold a couple days back, he doesn't know the exact date". This drove me crazy, we have been going back and forth with these guys (2 weeks) for financing a car that was already sold. It was extremely unprofessional of them to not communicate that with us. Because of this we have to hustle to find a car within a week (since our rental car is expiring). I have heard a lot of negative things about US dealerships but this experience proved it to be true. Lesson learnt, be very careful when dealing with dealerships. More
