Darlene, As you can imagine, there are times when pricing errors occur. These issues are not unique to the automotive industry. Nearly every major retailer will at one time or another have a pricing error. As you can imagine, when these very rare instances happen, the last thing we would want to happen is to have a potential customer frustrated by such a concern. Unfortunately, our dealer could not absorb the financial loss that we would have suffered by offering the vehicle at the incorrect price. Al did in fact offer to split the difference in the price with you and your family, however you declined to do so. As far as the comment “as much as I can possibly get for it” that was made when your family inquired about the vehicle, at that time, Albert and your family were having a pleasant discussion regarding our vehicles and that comment was made in a lighthearted manner which is exactly how it was taken during your time here. To express that without context in this manner is disingenuous and inaccurate. We regret the fact that we were unable to find a solution that you would have found acceptable. Brad, There are absolutely instances where error occurs, however when advertised pricing is concerned, they are upheld by the merchant, or dealer in this case, to meet customer satisfaction. It appears that these outward monetary values are not just Mr. Glassen's, but a trait of Lexus of Route 10 overall. It is quite interesting how the conversation is spoken upon, as if you were present, because I do not recall interacting anyone involved with the conversation, other than Mr. Glassen. As a matter of fact, he refused to escalate the matter to upper management upon my request. So, knowing the "tone" of the conversation, is inaccurate and still remains inappropriate. The only disingenuous actions are those taken by staff both during and after the fact, and only inaccuracies is the advertisement. Any accommodating action would have been acceptable, unfortunately an attempt was not even made even after bringing the matter to managements attention. Terrible representation of a luxury brand.

Darlene, I certainly understand how a pricing discrepancy can cause a great deal of frustration. However, as an example, at any time, walk into your local grocery store or large retail store where an advertisiment and a correction will be listed on thier bulletin board annoucing a pricing error and an apology for the confusion. In those cases, these errors are generally one or two dollars, and not seven thousand. Even in those smaller instances, those items are not provided at the erroneous price. While I was not present during your interaction with Albert, he has been with our company for years, and there has never been a complaint regarding his personal interaction with his clients. I have repeatedly witnessed his interataction with clients and have found his manner of engagement to be friendly and consistent. Logic would dictate that a salesperson would not seriously respond to a pricing question in the manner you have reported and expect to ever have any success in sales whatsoever. Regarding the attempt to potentially find a way to secure a deal despie the error, Albert did in fact request assistance from management, which is where the offer to split the difference came from.
