This is a long review but I think people should read it before heading to this or any Automation dealership, to get a full understanding of the car-buying experience at Autonation. SUMMARY: DECEPTIVE PRACT before heading to this or any Automation dealership, to get a full understanding of the car-buying experience at Autonation. SUMMARY: DECEPTIVE PRACTICES, COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT. BEWARE LEXUS OF PALM BEACH AND AUTONATION. I’ve never owned a Lexus before. In fact, we had an appointment to see a 2021 Audi Q5 at the Lexus of Palm Beach. We had inquired a week or two before and after repeated calls from the salesman, took the car for a test drive and purchased it. Ironically, the process went smoothly and we got a decent trade-in value for our 2018 Mercedes GLC, which we loved. However, after a few miles down the road, we realized the seats were rock-hard. Luckily the law provides for a cooling-off period for used car purchases, and the dealership canceled the deal. On our way out, we saw a really nice Lexus NX 350 F Sport. At this point I was exhausted from the all-day experience and told them I wanted a different price point if I was getting into a smaller SUV and to call us when a different model came in. After driving it, we were immediately impressed with the upscale look of the car and found ourselves being talked into it. I thought the finance guy and our salesperson Oliver were very nice and trusted their input. We decided to make the purchase and drive home after an 8-hour day. By the time we got home I was in tears — I realized these seats were also hard. I googled Lexus forums to try to convince myself it was in my head, but many had posted that the sport seats were known to be a former seat, and one commented that a salesperson had even pointed that out to her when she was looking at cars. It was a holiday weekend, so we called the dealership the next day on Sunday to plead with them to cancel the deal, especially since it was a holiday weekend and nothing was open on MLK Day. They said they absolutely could not, it was too late. We drove down there so I could plead with them and told them I felt misled especially since I had JUST RETURNED A CAR WITH HARD SEATS — something the finance guy told us after the fact that he knew, but they couldn’t say anything. Whatever. I begged them to consider it and they would not. They said even though the car only had 100 miles on it, it would be considered used and they would have to sell it for thousands less than what they sold it for to me. Now, we all know that’s not true due to inventory and demand. Also I told them I didn’t think anything had been filed since every agency and bank was still closed. In the end, near tears, I figured the only way I could save the loss was to get into another Lexus, the RX 350. I begged them to not have us lose any more than we had spent but in the end, we had lost about $6k in the span of two days. And guess what? The VIN on the NX 350 we “bought” still shows up as never having been sold. It’s JTJKGCEZ7N5001506 in case you’re the one buying it. And honestly I don’t like the RX 350 either. The seats aren’t as hard as the NX but they are not comfortable and it feels like a major sacrifice coming from the Mercedes. And yes, I realize how that sounds, but if you’re reading this, you are in the market for a luxury car too and you should know all this. Another huge takeaway — Autonation absolutely will try to screw you. We’ve inquired into a couple Mercedes dealerships owned by Automation to get rid of this costly reminder of a car and they have given us the same BS about why we would take another $6k loss on this trade — even though we’ve seen this same car listed as used selling for sticker price. Think long and hard before you deal with Autonation and purchase a Lexus. It’s a great car but the seats are the least comfortable in the luxury market. More
A pleasant experience. Service advisor, Anthony Gordillo, was friendly and knowledgeable and the vehicle was ready at the anticipated time. Can't ask for much more. Gordillo, was friendly and knowledgeable and the vehicle was ready at the anticipated time. Can't ask for much more. More
I have now purchased 2 ES350's from Lexus of Palm Beach, both L-certified vehicles, and could not be more satisfied. I purchased extended warranties on both vehicles, a 2015 and 2018), and Lexus has perform both L-certified vehicles, and could not be more satisfied.
