Hello Missz. We do apologize that you felt compelled to have a recommended wheel alignment during your visit with us. For many folks, the only opportunity they have to correct an alignment issue is when their vehicle is here at the dealership. We felt a responsibility to alert you that an alignment was due. A wheel alignment is the process of checking and adjusting the angles of the wheels relative to each other and to the car body. The reason we recommend wheel alignments to be done is because over time the wheel angles change. This happens as a result of deforming and wear of various rubber bushings in the vehicle suspension and sagging of the springs. Besides that, the wheel alignment needs to be checked after hitting large & small potholes, railroad tracks, speed bumps, construction zones on highways and curbs, as well as after accidents. The wheel alignment also needs to be done after replacement of any of the major suspension or steering components. Lexus recommends that customers get their vehicles aligned once a year and/or every 15,000 miles. As a courtesy to all of our customers we offer a complimentary wheel alignment check on our service drive. Our ownership and management are believers in preventive maintenance. If your alignment is out and it is not addressed, you will most likely have to replace your tires at an earlier date than originally planned. While we do replace tires often, we prefer seeing the smiles on our customers when they are able to save money, extend the life of their cars, and most important…..keep themselves and their passengers safe by ensuring that their tires are properly aligned.
