So, I lost my Lexus RX330 in hurricane Sandy and needed to replace it as soon as possible. We opted for a very specific RX350 just off lease. I had owned my previous car for less than a year, so had just went through all the nonsense of coping with the nonsense that most dealers give you. I had seen an ad on autotrader from Lexus of Manhattan and decided to stop in. Natily Martinez was the sales rep we had gotten on that Saturday morning and what a blessing she was! They did not have the color/option combination that we wanted, so we continued searching with a promise that she would call if something came in. Natily would call us every week for two months telling us what was available and assuring us that we were not forgotten. Sales rep of the year award? She has my vote!! On the way back from California we get a phone call and the perfect car came in. Natily knew how particular I am about cleanliness and made sure that she added her own diligence into making sure the car was up to my standards. We negotiated a great price for the vehicle and have been happily driving it ever since. What set Lexus of Manhattan apart? The general manager, Greg Rojek, for one was amazing! I truly can't say enough good things about this man. He made sure we felt like family and always came to say hi to us and ask us about our family details that most people would forget. He streamlined the process so well that you felt as if you truly had a family member working there. Second, was the level of care from the support staff. From making sure we had a printout of the car's history and streamlining the paperwork - Ritchie Velijia (what a guy!), to setting up insurance, to Socrates Nova setting up our devices to sync with the car before we left (and he gave us his info if we had any tech questions). Oh, I almost forgot! How many car dealerships actually call you AFTER you purchase the vehicle to make sure you are happy with the purchase? How many dealerships actually swap out any scuffed or otherwise imperfect parts before sale? How many dealerships have sales reps who are not "working" with you helping you? Not many, I can assure you. What you should be aware of: There is a reasonable dealer prep fee (prices are still alot better even with this!). You can get alot of mileage out of this to make sure your car is perfect. This car dealership is in Mahattan. Space it tight in the city and so if you go outside the showroom to the garage, you may be shocked that it looks like... a NYC garage! Many cars come in all the time, so may not be prepped yet when you come in to see them. Give them the time to ready them for purchase and they will look awesome. Honorable mention: JP Mack. A great sales rep that you should ask for if you want to be treated with courtesy and respect. Natily was our girl and we love her, but if she isn't available, ask for JP. More
Flavio was honest, attentive and eager to help. He is a good listener and looks for solutions. He is considerate about your time and emails/calls you to update you about your car. I've been dealing With Leonardo Linares concerning service to my newly acquired 2011 Lexus. I found the service and service people VERY accommodating. I had a wonderful experience at Lexus of Manhattan and with Joel. I went in after doing extensive internet research and had narrowed my search to 3 cars (one being the Lexus). The professional atmosphere of the dealership and the fact that Joel was able to locate and bring the exact car that I wanted to the dealership within 24 hours was very impressive. We bought a Lexus 450h two years ago from lexus of Manhattan and could not have been happier. We were contacted by “Jay” this week to with an offer to trade us in for a 2010 model RX450h. Jay exp Manhattan and could not have been happier. We were contacted by “Jay” this week to with an offer to trade us in for a 2010 model RX450h. Jay explained that it would involved no cash and that he had numerous 2010 RX450h’s to pick from all with approx 30k miles on. He explained if we bought over the same terms (60 Months) he could lower our payment by $50 a month too…whats not to like? I explained to Jay that we live in Warren County, NJ and it would be a 90 min drive….we would both have to take the day off work. I explained that there was no way was I willing to increase my payment or offer cash to this deal. I expect it to be exactly like he had explained and anything less he would be wasting all of our time. He assured me that his offer was genuine. When we arriver, Jay immediately tried to talk us into the RX350 model. When we explained we were not interested, Jay came out with a 2010 450h with 33k miles on it…just like we had discussed. After chatting to him, he told us he could do the deal and out payments would be $679 a month – that’s $119 MORE, not $50 less. Whats more he had ONE other model at 40k miles which he was able to offer us at the same payment per month (not the $50 less). In front of Alladin, who Jay had led us to believe was the manager, I looked at Jay and asked him why he has promised us: a saving of $50 per month, and a large pool to choose from, when in fact there was only two vehicles. Jay just stared towards the ground. Alladin, repeated that he had only one vehicle at 40k miles that could meet the “deal” we were offered. I left in disgust. I do not do business with liars. This was a clear bait and switch, something you do not expect from a Lexus dealer. Thanks to Jay, my wife and I lost a day at work, a tank of gas and we added 200 miles to our car. Jay does not appear on this site for some odd reason, so I have left it under Alladin as he dealt with us too. Ill stick to Bridgewater next time. Lexus of Manhattan just lost a customer. UPDATE: I was called by a manager after posting this review asking me to take it down saying he wanted to put this right. he apologized for the salesman and said he was new and that was not normally how they did business. He offered me a free service which I declined (Not driving 90 miles for a service). He then told me he was determined to make me happy and get me the deal I was promised. One week later he called and said he was still looking......That was August 2012....9 months later I havent heard another thing. More
