I needed to try to trade my Jeep in for a more gas economical car because I was moving into more of an outside sales position at my company. I liked the look of the Mazda 3 and saw that IRA Lexus/Toyota had a couple of late model used ones on their lot. As I was looking one of the cars over in the lot, Andrew introduced himself. I told him I really liked the look of the car and let him know that I was going through a short sale on my home and did not know if he would be able to get me financed. I did not want to waste his time on a busy week-end (President's Day week-end), but he said lets get some info and take it for a ride. To my surprise, the car had a full tank of gas which I had never experienced with buying a car from other dealers. The test drive surprised me as well, it was probably about 10 miles long with both city and highway driving. I really loved the car and all the features it had to offer. Once we returned, we worked the numbers and then filled out all the normal paperwork. Since I was in the process of a short sale on my home, my credit report showed a few months of me being delinquent on my mortgage. I was brutally honest with Steve Pease about my situation and he was honest with me as well. He said he would need some proof of the short sale in process to go to his banks and hopefully get me financed. Considering I never missed a car or credit card payment I might have a shot, but he needed time. I left that afternoon pretty much assuming it was not going to happen. The next day I got a call from Steve saying he had a talk with a VP in the financing dept, described my situation, and he said to sell me the car! I really appreciated the time and effort Steve put into getting me into the new car that is so much better for me. I would and will recommend IRA Lexus to my friends and family after this experience and I will also go back to them first in the future for my auto needs. More
I received a bid from Ira Lexus, and it was a very good price, so I called up the dealership to confirm it on the morning of Thursday October 1. Later that afternoon, he apologized for not being able to get to it but that he would be giving my information to senior sales associate Doug Clifford to handle, and that I should expect a fax later that day. The fax had still not arrived by the next day, so I decided to wait over the weekend and see if it would arrive by then. It did not, so first thing Monday morning I left a voicemail for Doug to inquire about it, but did not hear from him that day either. Afterward, I received an inquiry from another interested dealer, who I informed that I was already working with someone else, but that they were not responding to me. He said that he could close a deal right away, and I ended up going with that dealer instead. On October 7, nearly one week after my first contact with Ira Lexus, I received the fax I had been waiting for. That day, I called and left a voicemail for Doug advising him that I had already picked up a car from another dealer the day before, and at that time I requested that he reverse the credit card transaction. Having received no response from Doug in regards to my request for a credit, I left a voicemail for finance manager Steve Pease on October 16. When he, likewise, did not respond to me, I followed up with a voicemail to general manager Dennis Wilson on October 22. He, too, ignored my request for the transaction to be reversed. It has now been almost a full month, and the dealer refuses to return my deposit. It doesn't make any sense to me why the dealer would act this way when they know full well they have to return the deposit. More

One time when I broke down with 3 small children in the car he personally came to me with a loaner and made sure we were all safe. Doug Clifford created an easy, straightforward, non-rushed experience that made my interest in Ira of Manchester the dealership I wanted to buy my Lexus from. I had many important concerns ie making sure the GX 470 would fit in my garage, and how it would handle a hill w/ a 30 degree incline. He understood my busy work schedule, and facilitated the opportunity to answer my questions by bringing the SUV to the Lakes Region ( about 50 miles away). I prefer salemen to give me the bottom line, and Doug's experience, work ethic and finesse made my experience an enjoyable and relaxing choice. He understood me as a person and not JUST A CUSTOMER. When I made the decision to purchase the Lexus GX 470, the question was to buy new or a CPO. When I had made up my mind about the specifics, Doug found my request and notified me immediately. It was nice to know that I was on his priority list. Doug kept the lines of communication open, returning my phone calls even on his day off. He offered to arrange to pick me up at a different location when I was unable to get a ride to the dealership. After I purchased the GX 470, and noticed a stain on the carpet and I had no time to drive to Manchester to get it removed. Doug called a specialist to come to my house at my convenience and got the job done. I would recommend Doug Clifford to any person considering purchasing a Lexus or where ever he may be working. Every time we buy a car it is a wonderful experience. If you're looking for a low pressure sales environment, knowledgeable sales staff, and quality cars I would highly recommend Doug at Ira Lexus. Recently, my husband was getting standard maintenance done on his truck at the Toyota dealer next door, and he always stops in to see Doug on the Lexus side while he's waiting. Doug knew that we already had a Lexus IS 350 but that we were also interested in a Lexus IS F. He made the trade seamless and painless. The price was more than reasonable, and he even drove to car down to where I work so that I could sign papers and drive it home! Now that's what I call excellent service! Just in case you're wondering... I love the new car. On a final note, not only is it a pleasure working with Doug but also the other people at Ira Lexus who have helped us in the car buying process.
