I have been dealing with Lexus of Clearwater for over 18 years. The experience has been excellent except for one time some years back. My LS 450 was rear-ended and totaled. I talked to a salesman about a re years. The experience has been excellent except for one time some years back. My LS 450 was rear-ended and totaled. I talked to a salesman about a replacement vehicle, but he was less than cordial, so I walked away. Some years later I purchased the LS 460 L which I'm presently driving from Lexus of Winter Haven. Recalling the excellent service I had received earlier from your facility, I turned to you for all future service. I have received excellent service each time I visited your facility. This dealer is okay for service. First, they are extremely expensive. The regular oil change, they automatically add in the oil additive for an additional $10, which brings my Lexus GS' oil change t extremely expensive. The regular oil change, they automatically add in the oil additive for an additional $10, which brings my Lexus GS' oil change to roughly $130, after a discount. That's crazy. They charge roughly $160/hr for service, which is also outrageous. I get that they have a lot of overhead and need to recoup that cost but on average a dealership is around $110-130/hr, and they are $160/hr. Secondly, my recent visit, on Saturday, 10/2/21, the service advisor I had was at first rather rude and I almost got back into my car and drove away. I had driven about 5k miles and wanted an oil change, he comes out and says that all they were going to do was the clorox disinfectant because it wasn't due yet, which I declined that service. I told him I was at 5k miles, my sticker is where it's at and my car says maintenance required and I do not particularly like to go over 5-6k miles, I don't care what the advisors say, that's my preference. He kept fighting me saying that it wasn't due and that I should come back in another 5k miles. I kept telling him I made the appointment and came here because I want my oil change now and he gave me a rude attitude and told me "well its going to be about 2 hours since you want it done." That right there is when I almost lost it. I am not spending over $100 for an oil change to be treated like I'm a child. He ended up being nice after my oil change and I had a decent conversation with him but people, first impressions matter and that is what I had on my first impression. Third, the car wash was terrible, my car had water streaks down the doors, spots all over my mirrors, and just looked like a gas station car wash. Now I know I am complaining about something I shouldn't but my sister-in-law had her Kia washed at the Kia dealer and that thing came out spotless, I had my Lexus washed at Lexus of Tampa Bay when they did my spark plug and dashboard replacement and it looked like a detailer did it, it was fantastic. On top of that, Lexus of Tampa Bay removed the key tag off my key, and the tag off my dashboard, which Lexus of Clearwater did not. Overall, I am okay with the service at this dealership. Would I come back? No. I think Lexus of Tampa Bay is nicer, friendlier, does better work, and makes my car look great, which is sad because both dealers are owned by Autonation. More
My service experience went seamless with the dealer providing me with a loaner car. My leg was injured at the time and they gave me personal service in the service drive so I would not have to walk in providing me with a loaner car. Very nice updated facility. Service adviser was great. However, the person that supposedly greets you in the service department needs some training. No greeting whatsoever.
