Dear Mr. & Mrs. Silva, My dealership participates in the DealerRater process and we are a Certified Dealer. I am responding to your posting dated 8/15/2010. We are New Jersey’s first Lexus store and our customer service reputation is second to no other store. We have earned that reputation by exceeding client’s expectations. I would ask that you review our entire list of DealerRater responses that are posted. In parallel to those reviews are our Lexus National Survey scores which are equally positive. We are proud to be a multi year Elite of Lexus dealer and have earned that by providing clients consistent, professional and Lexus commensurate service. Your experience here was not typical obviously and as you well know, there are many aspects to negotiations for the acquisition of a new vehicle. The clients come in with an offer that they feel is fair and the dealer has a price that he feels is fair and the end result is hopefully someplace in the middle. However, there are limitations to negotiations. A client may have a maximum dollar amount in their mind that they want to spend which is completely understandable. On the other side is the dealer who has to get a minimum amount of money for his product in order to stay in business which is understandable. There are instances when those two figures don’t match and then the dealer loses a client and the client loses the dealer. Unfortunate as that may be, it is the reality of economics. It happens in any industry where negotiations exist. We would love to sell a car to everyone who comes in but that is not a reality of economics. We pride ourselves in our customer service before, during and after the sale. Loaner cars, pick up and delivery service, knowing that your sales and service people are always here for you, lunch during your service and many other amenities that we offer, all are part of the Lexus of Bridgewater experience. The sales process usually takes hours but the service relationships is for years. In light of the economic downturn in our country over the past couple of years, we at Lexus of Bridgewater re evaluated our pricing structure and have tried to make it easy for our clients to acquire their vehicles from us. We try to minimize the inconvenience, ambiguity, and tension involved in negotiations. We offer as much information as possible on the phone/internet and we operate an ethical, legal and sincere dealership. When you come to the dealership after having prices quoted on the phone/internet, we don’t change the prices. We honor our commitments. I am sorry that you elected not to acquire your new car from us. I ask that you review all the posted responses on our DealerRater site and reconsider what happened during our brief and unsuccessful transaction.
