Dismissive salesmen. Must not want to sell cars. I took my RC there for a couple of years and it has the feeling of a VW dealership, not a luxury brand. We will not buy a Must not want to sell cars. The sales associate Bryant was very professional and courteous but their used sales manager Ted Layfield is nothing but a smartass and I refuse to ever go back to Lexus of B'ham as long as he's there. I courteous but their used sales manager Ted Layfield is nothing but a smartass and I refuse to ever go back to Lexus of B'ham as long as he's there. I was ready to pay cash for the car at a reasonable rate and everything went well until he showed up. I'll drive to Atlanta next time. More
I had a deposit down on a new car coming in but decided to back out last minute because the wait was up to 6 weeks out and a new body style was rumored to be coming out soon. Decided I wanted to wait and s to back out last minute because the wait was up to 6 weeks out and a new body style was rumored to be coming out soon. Decided I wanted to wait and see what the new style would be before dropping 60k plus. When I told my sales associate Gary Williams this he was completely rude to me and refused to speak to me. I understand he lost that sale and that made him upset but a good sales agent would never act that way towards a customer. I Ended up buying a brand new car from a different dealership within a month. He could’ve had a sale from me eventually if he knew how to treat his customers! More
I came into The Lexus Of Birmingham to look at a vehicle the day before purchasing, and actually started the buying process for the car. The salesman told me the car had been on the lot for 3 weeks and was the day before purchasing, and actually started the buying process for the car. The salesman told me the car had been on the lot for 3 weeks and was currently available. I told them that I would have the funds available and would be ready to purchase the following day. I then set an 9am. appointment in the morning for the following day to come in and purchase the car. The next day I went to purchase the car and had gotten ALL the necessary paperwork and funds available, I then called my credit union and continued the buying process with the salesman ON THE PHONE. I was an APPROVED BUYER. Ten minutes later I received a call stating that they were going to sell the car to someone who was traveling 5 and a half hours away from a different state to the dealership to purchase the car AND I AM A CURRENT RESIDENT OF THE STATE. I LIVE 20 MINUTES AWAY FROM THE DEALERSHIP. I was told the day before that I could hold the car for 1000 down, or I could set an early appointment and come in and finish the buying process, which is what I chose to do. The salesman told me over the phone that they would not be selling me the vehicle and he then suggested I come in and speak with his supervisor named "Ted". I came into dealership and I asked Ted if the person driving put 1000 down and he replied,"No they didn't have to, because it's written policy that we have to honor the customer if they are traveling to purchase or look at a car." I asked him to see a written copy of that policy and he replied," It's a verbal policy." I am a former Defensive Back and National Champion for The University of Alabama Crimson Tide, and currently elected State Official. This was my first car purchasing experience, and I have NEVER felt more embarrassed, ashamed, mistreated, and prejudiced before in my life. This has HURT me deeply. and I hate to think it is the way that I look, but that was the ONLY conclusion that I could come to. It literally brought tears to my eyes. I did not appreciate how I, as a paying, approved, in-state, money in hand, customer was treated. I am crushed spiritually and mentally. I did NOTHING to deserve the treatment that I received at The Lexus Of Birmingham in Birmingham, Alabama 1001 Tom Williams Way Birmingham, Alabama 35210. More
