Declining Service I took my car in for an oil change but needed to leave it overnight because a couple of things needed to be repaired. Before leaving, I was asked to I took my car in for an oil change but needed to leave it overnight because a couple of things needed to be repaired. Before leaving, I was asked to sign an agreement that I hadn’t been shown. I was to sign electronically. I explained that I don’t sign agreements without reading them. Therefore, the lady printed the agreement and marked off areas where I should place my initials. She decided to explain the areas, that I was to sign, by reading from her script. Yet, the script didn’t coincide with the verbiage on the agreement. I tried to explain that to her and the sales manager but it took a long time for them to understand the problem. Obviously, neither of them had compared the scripted information to what was on the agreement. To my consolation, one customer service representative (Kathleen Buchol) expressed that she understood what I was attempting to convey but that nobody had previously noticed the problem. She was friendly and responsive. The next day, since I hadn’t heard from the service desk by 4 p.m., I called to see when my car would be ready. Keep in mind, I would need to be notified and find a way to return by 6 p.m. (closing time for the service department). When I called, a representative informed me that the car was ready. Frustrated, I asked, “When was someone going to notify me?” To that question, she simply indicated that she didn’t know. My husband and I own 2 cars from Lexus of Orland and we have seen the service (at this site) decline over several years. Many people prefer to take there cars to a different Lexus dealer. I hope that the leaders at the Orland site will take a less casual attitude and attempt to provide the high quality service that I became accustomed to receiving. More
