Even though I knew it was time for a new car, and knew exactly the model I wanted, I was still dreading having to visit a car dealer and have and go through all the nonsense, game playing, tricks, and int exactly the model I wanted, I was still dreading having to visit a car dealer and have and go through all the nonsense, game playing, tricks, and intimidation tactics car dealers and car salesmen try to pull on you to get you to get the best deal for them rather than the best deal for you. The experience I just had buying my new accord ended up being the complete opposite of what I was expecting and was actually the best car buying experience I've ever had. I have Robin Hines (my salesperson) and the rest of the folks at Coast Honda to thank for that. After I originally spoke with Robin about the exact model I wanted, she was able to email me over quote that included the full out-the-door price of the car and took the time to explain to me all of the fees another other costs that went into it. Most of the other dealers I contacted gave lowball quotes that didn't include all the fees and taxes, and when pressed for a full out-the-door price, some would not even give it to you until you walked in the door. After doing some of the calculations myself on what the out-the-door prices from the other dealers actually were, I realized Robin gave me the best price. I quickly called her and told her my finances, what I had for a trade in, and what I would like my monthly payment to be. She called me back in just a few minutes and said all she needed to do was look at my trade-in and we could do that deal. I ended up having to cancel one appointment with her and asked her to come in on a day that was her usual day off. Instead of asking me to come in another day like I expected she told me it would be no problem and came in anyway to meet with me. I had to admit, this really impressed me. When finally meeting her I came to learn she was an extremely knowledgeable salesperson and cared a lot about me as the customer and what I wanted. She is also very personable and easy to talk to which really put me at ease when sitting with her and finalizing the deal. In the end, I wound up getting the exact deal she told me she could get me over the phone just a few days before without any attempts at trying to push anything extra on me, play with the numbers, or bring the manager over to team up on me (which I learned is a tactic that Coast Honda will not use - you deal with your sales person and that's it). They only thing she did suggest was the extended warranty but she didn't press the issue when I originally wasn't interested (I ended up going back and purchasing it because I realized it made sense, if I was pushed on it, i wouldn't have bought it no matter what). The exact model and color I wanted was not on the lot at that time so I had to wait a few days, but Robin called me every single day to give me updates on when it might arrive. When it finally came time to pick-up the car, Robin took the time to sit down with me in the car and show me how to use all of the features and answer any other questions I might have. I've had the car for a week now and she's even called me a few times since to see how I liked it and if I had any more technical questions. If you are in the market for a Honda, I definitely recommend going to Coast Honda and speak with Robin. She's always up front and honest with you and will make your car buying experience as smooth and pleasant as possible. I already have a few friends and family I plan on sending her way in the future. Robin Hines was an EXTREMELY thorough and helpful salesperson. We came in with a quote from another dealership to see if it could be beat. I had just sold my '04 Honda and wanted a brand new one. I was recommended to go to Coast Honda because I was told that the people there were very friendly and nice. I walked in with the name of a salesman, Chris Voigt, who was somewhere around, but no one knew exactly where he was Three salesmen rushed around to find him. (very nice treatment) Once found, he came and introduced himself. He asked the "getting to know you" questions like who had recommended him to me, what I was looking for in a car,etc. Chris is not the "pushy" salesman, which I just can't stand. He laid out all of my options for buying or leasing, ran all the numbers, and came up with a deal that was great. He also made sure I understood everything he was telling me I drove out of the dealership about 2 hours afterward with my new Accord Touring, thinking I had died and gone to heaven. Chris is very personable, down to earth, knowledgeable. and very easy to work with. I would recommend him to anyone who was looking for a new or used car. I know they wouldn't be disappointed.
