Chris is a wonderful person to work with. I usually run from car salesman because they typically can be quite pushy and annoying. This is not the case with Chris. He is helpful and attentive, but without y from car salesman because they typically can be quite pushy and annoying. This is not the case with Chris. He is helpful and attentive, but without your typical "salesman attitude". I never felt pressured, and never felt as though he was trying to take advantage of me. He gave me a very fair deal on my brand-new Honda Pilot, and I felt as though he was a true partner in the buying process rather than someone who was trying to sell me a bunch of gadgets and extras that I don't need. I would recommend him to ANYONE who is looking to purchase a Honda! More
If you had asked me about a year and a half ago about Coast Honda I would have given nothing but a rave review for them. I was a customer for the last 10 years bought my 1st accord there and had that one Coast Honda I would have given nothing but a rave review for them. I was a customer for the last 10 years bought my 1st accord there and had that one serviced there and bought my current 07 accord there for service up until November of last year. In January 2012 I needed front and rear brakes and 4 tires which was already going to be a nice bill right there $1285. At that time they had suggested I do a transmission flush and I had said ok go ahead and do it because they are Honda and I trusted them in which case was always my feeling with them. I can not count how many times I walked in there telling John and Steve and anybody else I've dealt with there Id rather pay you guys the more money to have it done right and if not know you guys back your work up. Your Honda right? WRONG!!!!!! Come 5 months later(June2012) my transmission was "In the early stages of going" and I would need a new transmission. I had about a week to think about what I was going to do. I bought the car in 08 used so it still wasn't payed off. I really couldn't afford to get rid of it and get something else so I decided to fix it there was no other choice. I dropped the car off on a Monday and was told it should be done by Thursday. I did have to get a rental and when getting the rental I had said to the guy at enterprise I didn't mean to be fussy but I am going to have this car a few days so did he have anything equivelant to my car gas wise because I can not afford anything bigger. Well once again they only had a mini van. He then tells me its ok it has plenty of gas in it and don't worry about bringing it back to the point that it was at. Ok. We now go outside to the mini van that only had enough gas in it to get me back to Toms River from there that day. So after leaving the dealer that day and speaking to one of the GM 's about why American Honda was only giving me $1000 towards my car his response was "I don't know Im so sorry I told them how good of a customer you are." Coast Honda still decided to charge me the $5 a day for the rental that I ended up having till Friday and having to put $20 worth of gas in it. So on top of the $2599.00 bill I got I still payed another $45 to them. So now after speaking with a few people who know their stuff about cars had said to me that the rule of thumb is that if you have NEVER flushed your transmission fluid before with the amount of miles I had (which was only 78,500) was to leave it alone. So why in January did they recommend I do this when they know they have been the only ones who have done work to my car and that had never been done before. So now after fighting with the oh so nice people at American Honda they had decided to help me by putting $1000 towards my new transmission and I was responsible for the rest. $2599.00 to be exact. I swore after that I would never step foot back in there and WILL NEVER buy another Honda because of this horrible experience. So now months go by and I was having some issue with one of my new tires put on in January leaking. The tires did have a one year warranty on it so I went back for them to look at my tire and I had also said give me the wash and vacuum for $14.95 well after a good 2 hours of sitting there and paying $16 after taxes for the car wash my car came out filthy dirty liked it had never been touched and now all of a sudden I have a huge puddle in my cup holders, My floors in the backseat were sopping wet, and the backseats as well all soaking wet. After spending another hour there for them to re clean my car and dry the car out I somehow have a broken sunroof and that is what caused all the water in the car. They first tried to claim "you must have left the sunroof open" Really???? It was a pretty chilly day in November, who drives with their sunroof open in November? Second this car was outside the whole time during Hurricane Sandy and I never had a drop of water in my car those 2 days. So how my car survived Hurricane Sandy but couldn't survive their car wash just AMAZES me. Btw the difference between the hurricane and me bringing my car there was a matter of 2 weeks if that. In fact the reason I did wait so long in the first place for the tire to be fixed was because this had been the first real day that they had been opened since the hurricane and weren't running on generators, and that is why they were so backed up. I won't go on anymore but I will just say that to this day I still do not have a working sunroof because "I had a lot of debris in there" they had to completely disconnect the entire thing and that it would cost $115 to clean that out and that still wasn't a guarantee that that was the problem and would fix it. I have trusted these people for the last 10 years of giving me good, honest advice, and service but I guess that just doesn't mean anything anymore. Honda you have lost a customer for life. More
Mike Campbell was helpful and professional from the moment I met him. Instead of pressuring me into test driving and walking off the lot with a new car that day, he discovered that it was more advantag moment I met him. Instead of pressuring me into test driving and walking off the lot with a new car that day, he discovered that it was more advantageous for me to keep my 2011 Accord and refinance it from a lease to a buyout. It saved me a car payment this money and will save me a $100 a month to keep a car I know EVERYTHING about. I admire that he did not pressure me into leasing/buying a new car when it was better for me to do a buyout. He was genuinely more concerned with doing what was best for me and with helping me meet my goals of bringing my car payment down without pressuring me. I told him exactly what i wanted and espected of him as my salesperson and he was there for me from beginning to end! You can trust, Mike Campbell! He will now become my new Honda salesman! More

On Thursday April 4th, my wife and I stopped at Coast Honda to looked at a new car for our expanding family. We had been at another dealership all morning and afternoon before arriving at Coast. After Honda to looked at a new car for our expanding family. We had been at another dealership all morning and afternoon before arriving at Coast. After walking around the lot with out getting followed, we went inside and met with Gary. We explained to Gary that we only had a small amount of time to look because our baby sitter had leave shortly. Gary asked a few questions about what we were looking for. He took us around the lot and showed us vehicles that fit our needs. He explained the difference in models. He advised us which ones fit what we were looking for and fit our budget. In the end it took us less than an hour to find a vehicle, work out the money side. We left a deposit and got home in time for the baby sitter. We returned the next day and took our new car home. Gary did an outstanding job helping us find out next car! More
I bought a Honda Civic from Coast Honda at the end of August. I decided to look at Hondas to replace my luxury car which had been totalled in an accident. I had been to Honda another dealership first but August. I decided to look at Hondas to replace my luxury car which had been totalled in an accident. I had been to Honda another dealership first but wasn't pleased with the sales process. Folks in the area told me to try Coast Honda. When I went there I was immediately impressed. There was no pressure. Everyone was helpful and I was given price sheets with all of the details and always felt that the dealership and its employees were trying to help me find what I wanted and that they understood that I was under budget constraints for my purchase. I found and bought a Honda Civic. Since then I have been to the dealership twice for service and found the service department equally helpful. Prior to my experience at Coast Honda, I predominantly purchased luxury cars because I always felt that the service was outstanding. However, I have found that the service at Coast Honda matches what I found at the luxury car dealers and plan to make my next purchase at the same dealership. More
We've bought from Coast Honda before and have always been happy there, so when it was time to replace another car, we headed right over. We were matched up with salesman Mike Campbell, who sat down and been happy there, so when it was time to replace another car, we headed right over. We were matched up with salesman Mike Campbell, who sat down and asked us exactly what we were looking for...and that's exactly what he showed us. He explained all the costs up front, so there wouldn't be any surprises. A few days later we drove off with the car we wanted and WE LOVE IT! We had a very pleasant car buying experience and would definitely recommend Mike and Coast Honda. Thanks Mike! More
I purchased a Civic Si in 2012 and wanted to trade my Altima for an Accord. Gary is wonderful to deal with. He is extremely friendly and pleasant to deal with. After shopping around on the internet for a new Civic, I ended up going to Coast Honda and it made me regretting even looking elsewhere. My dad and grandma both have cars from there, that they have con ended up going to Coast Honda and it made me regretting even looking elsewhere. My dad and grandma both have cars from there, that they have continued to have serviced there over the years and never had anything but great things to say about the dealership. I was looking elsewhere because of promises of "free oil changes", "extended warrenties" and "price matching"--all of which turned out to not really be what was advertised--but after going to Coast I feel like I wasted my time with all of that. Chris couldn't have been nicer or easier to deal with. He gave me a quote online for a final, out the door price that beat anywhere else in the area. No gimmics, no surprises once you're in the dealership, no feeling forced into any extras that you don't want. It really feels like you are getting a good, honest deal, and not being fed the typical car salesman act. The quote I was given online was exactly what I paid for the car. Seriously, if you are in the market for a Honda, save yourself the time and stress go to Coast first. Great deals, great employees, and an overall great car buying experience. More
