Mr Feest, Thank you for your review of Les Stanford Chevrolet. I have done some investigating into your claims and think I've found the issue. It appears as though you needed a certain amount on your trade-in because you still owed a substantial amount on the SS. Trying to get to the number you needed to pay off the SS was not possible. At the time of your inquiry, Chevrolet was running 20% off the MSRP of many of our new vehicles, including a new SS. To purchase your trade-in at the price you wanted and put it up for resale would have made the purchase price more expensive than a new one. We cannot do business that way. Also, we see that you inquired with three different sales consultants in February, May and November wanting the same deal and were told that it wouldn't work. Given these factors, we believe that your review was unfair. We do our best to work with our customers to get the best possible offers available and we have an excellent reputation for doing just that. Paul, Thank you for responding to our Sales survey. We are disheartened to know that your experience was not exceptional. After a thorough review of our records I found that you had originally spoken with Tony on November 15, at which time you said that you had to run the idea by your father and figure out logistics. You also asked for a photo of the interior passenger seat, which Tony agreed to take a photo and send to you, and he did the following day. On the 16th, not even 24 hours later, you accused Tony of "not getting back to you." While this time passed, Tony had the car brought down to the showroom from our storage facility so that he could photograph the passenger seat and send it to you , per your request. On Tuesday, the 21st -- a full five days later -- at 4:25pm you called and apologized for "taking so long to get back to him," in your voicemail message. At 5:02pm -- 37 minutes later -- you called again, telling the switchboard operator that you "hadn't heard back from him," but did not leave a voicemail for Tony. At 5:15pm -- 13 minutes later -- you called again and spoke with another sales rep, Dennis, saying that you "just wanted to verify the condition of the vehicle," and left a verbal message with Dennis to have Tony call you. At no time during any of these voice mails did you indicate that you wanted to buy the vehicle. If you had, you could have put down a deposit to hold the car. You and Tony spoke once more on Wednesday morning when Tony told you that the car had been sold. Unfortunately, during the five day period you took to decide that you wanted to buy the car it had been sold. Two things you should understand, Paul. One, Tony has many customers and deliveries which take time. You were not the only customer he had during this period so if you didn't get a response within 13 minutes it is because he was handling the delivery of a vehicle. Second, with the 25% off MSRP promotion, you couldn't possibly think that these cars would be available for a long period of time. Our phones were constantly ringing. It was a great offer and many customers took advantage of it. During the five days that you took to get back to Tony to let him know that you did indeed want to buy the car, it sold. The fault does not sit exclusively on Tony's lap. Tony has an excellent reputation and has many, many satisfied customers. He's a busy sales consultant who does his best to keep in contact with all of his customers. We apologize if you feel that he was not taking care of you, but he did the best he could. Les Stanford Chevrolet has an excellent overall rating for sales and service, and we are the top Corvette dealer in the Midwest. There is a reason for that. We take care of our customers. Perhaps if you had made you decision sooner, we would not be having this conversation. We are sorry that we could not assist you and wish you the best.
