Spoke to salesman Mike Paskoff and agreed on a price for a new VW GTI. Went in to pick up the new car and had to sit down with David Johansen the finance guy. He tried to change the price of the car that I a new VW GTI. Went in to pick up the new car and had to sit down with David Johansen the finance guy. He tried to change the price of the car that I had already agreed to with the salesman. When I caught that he said it was a mistake. Then he lied right to my face and told me that the 1.9% financing rate from VW for "A" tier credit was only for 36 months. That for 48 months it was 2.9% and over 48 months was 3.9%. I told him that it clearly stated on the VW website the 1.9% financing was good for up to 60 months. Only after I ripped up the contract and told him I was leaving did he relent and give me the 1.9% rate that was clearly stated no the VW website. He tried to save face and mumbled that the salesman made a mistake about the finance rate and would have to eat the difference. I told him I guess VW must have made a mistake on their website as well. Spoke to the sales mgr Ted Sarnicola about my experience and he said he would striaghten it out and do the right take care of it. That was over 2 weeks ago still waiting for him to get back to me. Also car was supposed to have the protection packag which includes Monster mats. They were missing when I picked up the car, theysaid they would order them. They called me to tell me they came in, went down to pick them up and they were the wrong mats(cheap Golf mats),I told them they weren't the correct mats and they insistedthey were. Had to go home and look up onthe VW website to confirm that they were the wrong mats. Called them and told them to look on th website themselves. They them confirmed they were the wrong mats. These guys make the unscrupulus Car dealers of the 80'S look good. Would never recommend them for a car to anyone. They just continually lie to you about everything More
Very simple and enjoyable process. I dealt with Ed the sales manager and he gave me a great price upfront with no haggling. When I picked up the car the deal remained unchanged and they spent plenty of ti sales manager and he gave me a great price upfront with no haggling. I would recommend to stay away from this dealership. they show a lack of concern for their costumers. i bought my audi from them and then had a little trouble so i went to another dearler to by a second audi show a lack of concern for their costumers. i bought my audi from them and then had a little trouble so i went to another dearler to by a second audi for my wife. i still kept my service at legend. last year i had to have a new engine put in my car.....no fault of theirs but they did get the business. over the summer i had my 70000 mile check up. its done while im on vacation....close to 3000 dollrs to fix. i make them fix 1600 dollars worth to pass inspection and get the rest done by local mechanic. once return from my vacation i pick up my car and take it hom. four days later i take a trip to cape cod and get stuck on LIE with broken coolent hose. i call audi and tell them i just had car there for check up and they reply the hose has nothing to do with it...cant give me tow and im on my own my warrenty was up in may sorry. dont thet check hoses when uyou bring it in for service and pay hundreds of dollars??? Thats what i call lousy costumer relations! goodbye to legend and to audi. i switched and just got a new mercedes from smithtown....what great people and a wonderful car. More
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. WORST SALESMAN EVER ENCOUNTERED. VERY RUDE AND DEMANDING. AVOID THIS DEALER. TOLD THERE WAS NO ROOM FOR NEGOTIATING BEFORE WE EVEN SAT DOWN TO DISCUSS THE PRICE. I went to the appointment with my lease agreement in hand looking at my buy out quote as $12,182.24. I was very excited and thought it was a great deal, I love my car and want to own it. I have put enough looking at my buy out quote as $12,182.24. I was very excited and thought it was a great deal, I love my car and want to own it. I have put enough money in it and thought it was my best way to go. I didn’t have to buy a new car for over $20,000. David looked at my account I told him I wanted to buy out my lease and it was up in August. I also told him I paid this month for July as well which on July 7, 2010 the amount of $292.00 was deducted from my bank account. He punched the keyboard and told me I was paying close to $4,000 more. I asked why he told me about some fees, warranty, lemon law coverage, and penalty for closing out the lease. I told I paid this month, he told me if I get over charged they have to credit me that money. I showed my lease agreement and it said nothing about fees, warranty or lemon law. He was not very descriptive at all for me and when asked why he said “that is what the computer is telling me”. I thought this doesn’t sound right, but okay I get a 7 year warranty and maybe that’s taxes with it. He goes through the computer contacts my bank, the approve my loan for 3.9% and he said what a great rate, you will pay $272.00 for 7 years. Okay I pay $292.00 now does that sound right? Is that a good rate? I was naïve I thought it was okay, but something told me i’m not sure if he is being honest and I shouldn’t really go through with this. Turns out on the retail certificate of sale the car was sold to me for $16,542.00, The receipt from legend had a warranty for $1.00 plus tax $1,426.75 the total was $18,060.75. My loan then turned out to be $20,037.20. Feeling that I have been taken advantage of as a first time buyer of a car out of a lease I asked many people to overlook the agreement I signed and asked them about their experience buying out a lease and I even went to another Volkswagen dealership who told me to go back immediately. I was told that I was taken advantage of big time and was not explained properly the agreement. More

He would not return my phone calls and the receptionist would lie about what hours he was working. His only means of communication would be texting when clearly I told him to call my cell phone. I put down my deposit and was told I would get my car in two days. It took Brett 10 days to inform me that " It doesn't look good". It didn't look good because he couldn't get the color that I wanted which was candy white. If he would've explained and told me how difficult it was to obtain that color I would've picked a different one. When I went to get my deposit back they were very rude and stated that I needed to bring the yellow copy that was given to me. They told me that the check has cleared and I have to go to the bank and get a form and then bring it back to them. Funny thing is that I put the deposit on my credit card! On top of that Brett emailed me the next day and stated: "If there's an offer you want to make, no matter how ridiculous, let me know and I'll take it to management. What's the worse they could do, say no? They love me too much to fire me but I'll work any magic I can for you. Thanks again for the chance to do business together." Please do yourself a favor and do not buy a car from this dealership it will save you a lot of stress. Platinum Volkswagen is the way to go. I got my candy white Jetta in a day with no problems. More

His attentio This is the second car in a row I have leased from Ed at Legend. Ed Jaffe is the best dealer I have ever dealt with in my entire life. His attention to customer service and his quality of work was absolutely exceptional. I had received the BEST price for this car, and I know this because I shopped the same deal around to multiple dealers. Everyone in this place was VERY friendly, (even the FINANCE guy, hah). My overall experience was ABSOLUTELY GREAT and I will be a customer here for MANY years to come! More
I called ahead to make an appointment to have my one-year-old leased Jetta serviced and inspected at its 10,000 mile mark. I was told to come in at 9:30 a.m. and I told them I was staying with the c one-year-old leased Jetta serviced and inspected at its 10,000 mile mark. I was told to come in at 9:30 a.m. and I told them I was staying with the car since I had no way home. When I arrived at 9:30, Dawn reiterated again that I would be staying with the car and they would try to have me "in and out in no time." Well three, yes 3, hours later, I was finally leaving. My car sat in front of the building for two hours while I read my newspaper waiting. I finally went to ask and she said they were moving it in and when the papers came out, she'd come to get me. I waited and then asked her again about my car, explaining that I have a second VW Jetta one-year-old to bring in on Thursday for the exact same thing. What can I do not to wait? Can I come in at 7 a.m.? Well, she said, no one will be here at 7 a.m. but you can come at 7:30 a.m. and the mechanics start at 8 a.m. and there is only one other car at that time. Well, time kept ticking by. Now I was on the 2 1/2 hour wait. I asked her again if there was another way to do this; can I drop my car off the night before? Yes, she said and handed me an envelope for the keys. I asked about my car. She said they were washing it and it would be right out. I waited outside, no car. I went back in and as I came in, she went out the back door. Another woman sitting at her computer said, "I think she went for your car." So I went back outside. Still no car. I started to walk around the back but came back into the office. At that point a service man came in carrying keys and I asked if they were mine. "Oh, I don't know," he said, and handed me the keys without asking for ID or anything. Luckily it was my car at 12:30 p.m. and guess what? It wasn't washed! So what was I waiting for? And there was a courtesy car sitting right out front but no one bothered to ask if I wanted to use it. Here's what Honda did for my husband the next day for his car being inspected: greeted him by name under a tent, wrote his ticket and sent him inside, asked if he was staying and if so did he want a doughnut and coffee, asked if they could take him back to his office in a courtesy van, and picked him up. Honda has SERVICE; this dealership DID NOT! More
