Do not make the mistake of trusting this VW dealership in Amityville. I gave it the lowest rating possible because I was lied to and was promised something first and made the mistake of trusting that Alan wo Amityville. I gave it the lowest rating possible because I was lied to and was promised something first and made the mistake of trusting that Alan would follow through and he did not. Once I signed the paperwork, Alan did not fulfill his promise to me, and now I am out a lot of money. I will describe in detail exactly what happened to me personally, but if you only have a quick minute to glance at the negative ratings, DO NOT BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF FROM THIS DEALERSHIP LIKE I WAS. I wish I had read all the negative reviews before I signed up. I'll try to explain my problem as quickly as possible since there are many negative reviews already, and I am laid up recuperating from major surgery, so I am not physically able to give you every single detail. However I have been in touch with Victoria the manager at VW many times over this issue and still nothing was done to help me. I had a prior lease that was up for renew or to return. I was going to lease another type of vehicle but received information that was very disturbing to me. A VW person came out to inspect the car and came up with a lot of small damages to my car. I thought the exact amount was $1500, but when I called that department directly I was told I had to pay alittle over $1700. When the guy gave me the bill he told me if I go back and lease another VW car they might absorb some of the fees. I called up and was told that was correct and to come in. I met with Alan and told him I had to lease another car soon because I was going to undergo a very difficult surgery. I told him I was only interested in leasing another Jetta if he could absorb the fee. Of course I would have like the entire fee absorbed because I felt the fee was grossly overstated, but he said he could definitely get most of it absorbed. I asked specifics. He told me he automatically can get 33% off just by calling them on the phone, and that in his experience he has always been successful in getting another 33% off on top of that. He tried calling that department immediately but the employee was new and Alan said he was unprofessional and he was going to even report the guy for not being able to help him immediately. We need the information right away since it was contingent on my signeing the new lease. His manager came over and agreed with Alan that they could get the additional amount over the initial 33% off. I was under a lot of stress since I was worried about my upcoming surgery. Also the prior lease was under my brother's name. The new lease was to be under my name. Alan told me to sign the papers and he would call and get it all done for me while I was undergoing my surgery. He was a great salesman. He explained in great detail about all the people he knew who had the same procedure and where now fine...how could I not believe him? Well I signed the papers under the assumption he would do as he promised. Right after my surgery my brother told me the corporate office had been calling him saying that the fee had to be paid or it would negatively effect his credit rating. I called twice and left two messages with Alan about it, but he never returned my phone calls. I emailed the manager Victoria multiple times and was told she would relay the messsage to Alan. No one ever called!!!! I called the corporate office and was told unless I wanted my brother's credit to be effected by this I would have to pay right away with them and they said to call the dealership who made the promises to reimburse me for what I had to pay. I figured I wanted a quick resolution to this issue so I contacted Victoria the manager with documentation that I was only asking for $1200 of the full $1700 fee reimbursed to me and I would have been very happy that in the end, even though I had to do a lot of work while I am laid up from my surgery, in the end, the important thing was that they honored their promise, especially since I was only asking for $1200 of the money back. I know in my heart, I am being more than fair. Instead of hearing back that they would honor their promise and do the right thing, I was emailed by Victoria that she would tell Alan again. That is of no help for me. I am out all that money and would never have leased another vehicle from them without that fee being "mostly" absorbed. I learned my lesson. When a salesperson, Alan says trust me I will get it done for you, I should have said I'll wait to see before signing the papers. Again, I only had to sign the papers immediately since I had the surgery coming up and didn't have time to wait, and Alan knew that... Trust is a huge deal in the car industry. I personally will never trust this dealership again and I wish I could turn in my lease right now and lease from a dealership that I could trust. More
This was our BEST car buying experience ever. I contacted Victoria online for a new Passat and she was really helpful and answered all of my questions and quick replied to all of my emails. Once I went in, I Victoria online for a new Passat and she was really helpful and answered all of my questions and quick replied to all of my emails. Once I went in, I met with Sam and Jose, both were real professional and helpful. They put together a really good deal for us. Now we are happy Passat owners. I would recommend them to anyone and i would say that's the place to go to buy VW. I also visited other VW dealers and none of them came close to Legend's price. More
If you're on Long Island and considering purchasing a VW or Audi, be sure to visit Legend in Amityville and ask for Alan. When I first visited, I have been in the market for a new Beetle and it would be VW or Audi, be sure to visit Legend in Amityville and ask for Alan. When I first visited, I have been in the market for a new Beetle and it would be the first car I ever bought for myself (my previous car was given to me by my grandparents). So, the whole process was completely new for me. Alan Cantor was a true professional that walked me from the beginning to end. He was friendly, informative, helpful, and mindful that I never bought my own car before and was patient to spend the time explaining everything to me. He truly built a high level of rapport with me causing me to feel comfortable and believe that I could trust Legend to take care of me. I did my homework too, of course. I visited two other dealerships in the local area, and they didn't come close to Legend and Alan's expertise. The other dealerships did not take me seriously, were quick to brush me off, and were not professional to say the least. Alan knew everything about the car inside and out and even provided information to me that he didn't have to. His service was outstanding and put myself, and my very protective father and boyfriend at ease. My father, who can come off as cynical was even impressed by Alan's knowledge of VW history, it's safety, and knew every answer on the spot that he asked. My boyfriend knew right away Legend was deserving of my business. Compared to other salespeople and dealers, Alan is top notch and a true businessman. He knows the importance of customer service and knowing one's audience. He understands that young people, generation Y, as he called them, are now buying VW's and one's business tactics should changes. He communicated via text, email, and always remained conscious of giving me my space and time to think without being pushy or distant. I truly appreciate his dedication and assistance in ensuring that I got the car I wanted---which I did. Not many dealerships took the time to get to know me, explain things, and work with me. The car is gorgeous and I feel like I got exactly what I wanted without having to settle, which is a fantastic feeling. If you're in the market for a new, used, car, go to Legend and see Alan! More
The entire staff was very kind and welcoming. My sales associate, Frank B. was very kind, understanding and patient. In no way did I feel pressured or forced into any deal. All the information was broke associate, Frank B. was very kind, understanding and patient. In no way did I feel pressured or forced into any deal. All the information was broken down for me in terms I could understand and comprehend. I was taken on test drives of many different cars, Frank B. helped me understand what car would be comfortable for me, to transition too from my old vehicle to a new car. The dealership was very clean, had designated customer parking, which was very a small thing but much apprecated. The terms of contract were fully explained to me, I was given a complete and comprehensive understanding of the new vehicle I was leasing, from front to back. Every detail and button was explained. As a first time car buyer I felt very comfortable and satisfied with the attention and explainations I received from the staff. The financing manager was very helpful and fully explained all questions I had. I had a great experience at Legend Audi/Volkswagen, I would highly recommend my sales associate Frank B. and because of the interactions I had with managers and other sales associates I would recommend any of the staff to friends and family in the future. When the service was completed, I picked up the car, drove home the short distance, and parked in my driveway. The next morning while at a traffic light, the car started to go on fire from the engine and eventually burst into flames. Thankfully no one was hurt, but I don't believe it was a coincidence that it happened a few hours since the car was picked up from the service at Legend Audi Volkswagon in Amityville. When I told them of the incident, they had no explanation and were only able to say "sorry it happened". They were unprofessional from the start and the end result of the car showed, unfortunately. If you plan on having your car serviced there, I would strongly advise against it. More

This is the worst dealership I have ever dealt with. Their service department will rip you off any chance it gets. Brought my Audi in to have the brakes fixed as they were making lots of squeaking nois Their service department will rip you off any chance it gets. Brought my Audi in to have the brakes fixed as they were making lots of squeaking noise. Service said I needed new rotors + pads which I thought was xx since the squeaking was happening at 12k miles. Paid $600 for new brakes, still making noise even after new brakes. They couldn't fix, said it was normal. Brought to another dealer and the other dealer said there was a TSB (technical service bulletin) available for my car and I would be entitled to free brakes from the manufacturer. Apparently the TSB calls for using a different style of brakes that don't make noise. So basically not only did Legend sell me brakes I didnt need to pay for, they sold me the same brakes that cause the issue in the TSB! Asked for new wipers and they installed wipers that literally hung off the side of the car. Required I bring the Audi back to them to fix. I am not sure what they were thinking when they installed them because the average person would notice they were the wrong size. When you turn the blades on, the one blade was literally smacking and bouncing against the far windshield trim (the video I took of this with my phone looks so obvious). When washing my car they left spray residue all over the door and interior panels of my car. Took them three days to get it off completely. I had a crackling noise coming from an inside dash speaker. Legend decides to replace a door speaker not once, but twice... even after I told them which speaker was making the noise. Apparently this dealer makes it commonplace to install things on your car without TESTING them first. Had to make four separate trips to this dealer and I left with nothing fixed. Took the Audi to Huntington and Huntington fixed everything in half a day. I told Legend I wanted a FULL refund for everything I paid them. I said we could take the easy way or we can take the hard way. Apparently Legend wants to take the hard way which I am fine with because they refuse to issue a FULL refund for all services. I still find it absolutely absurd that they wanted to CHARGE me for brakes when I was entitled to free brakes from Audi. Well I know why they wanted to charge me because they probably make more money selling items vs. doing warranty repairs. But what pisses me off the most is the brakes that I PAID FOR were still the same crappy brakes that Audi of America says NOT to use. Legend even had the nerve to tell me that the squeaking brakes are "normal" based on driving conditions and cold weather. Normal eh? So normal that Audi of America has identified a problem with the brakes and are issing a FREE fix? Legend Audi says the TSB is only good for vechicles up to 12000 miles, but this is not the case since Audi of Huntington was able to apply the TSB and this TSB is ALL OVER THE INTERNET. All you have to do is a google search of "Audi TSB 2027636" and you will find all the info you need about my problem. Not a single post about a 12k mile restriction from Audi or any customer out there saying the dealer wouldn't apply the TSB. I WILL get all my money back after disputing on my credit card and a few emails to the Audi CEOs in Germany along with a negative survey for every trip I went to this dealer. I also have emails of a number of high executives for Audi of America that I will be contacting today. The Service Manager Scott is probably the biggest crook out of all of the people there as he basically lied throughout the entire process. And I am not surprised because every time either myself or my wife was at the Service desk, there were other customers in there also complaining about other items (like how one guy got scammed on the extended Warranty Legend sold him, and another lady saying that none of her cellphones will connect to the bluetooth on her Audi). AVOID Legend Audi. More

These two men really set the bar high for any other salesman or woman. My father and I walked in and were interested in a car, and immediately Cory took us for a test drive. I knew the car was mine from the beginning, but the fact that these two men were nice, and not to pushy, made us seal the deal at this dealership. We had to order the car for the specific package I wanted (which was NOT an issue at all) Jose continuously called to keep us updated on everything we needed to know, and as soon as the car came in Cory took his time out to explain every little gadget in the car, and didn’t show any impatience when I asked to explain one more time. I recommend this dealership to anyone and everyone interested in a car because not only will you receive an amazing car, but the assistance you will receive from this staff is something you will not find at any other dealership.
