Steve answered all of our questions. He didn't push us into something we didn't want. He was super friendly. He helped us quickly. He talked to us and made us understand all of our options. My non-profit company needed a work truck for rehabbing houses and plowing. We did extensive due diligence and chose the Tundra V8 in the 5.7L configuration because it out-torques and out horsepowers all houses and plowing. We did extensive due diligence and chose the Tundra V8 in the 5.7L configuration because it out-torques and out horsepowers all the competition. Additionally, we are on the coast and our previous Ford F150's frame rusted clean through after only 56k miles! Toyota offers an unlimited mileage corrosion warranty that fit the bill. The independent studies we found in Consumer Reports convinced us that the Tundra is hands down the leader in reliability and customer satisfaction in the work truck category. I believe this is a new role for the Tundra. The exact configuration we needed was very hard to find, especially during this slow/no production recall time frame. The Lee staff really outdid themselves! One gentleman - Eric - worked hard searching many dealerships to find nearly exactly what we were looking for. Then, managers Joe Tolpin and Mike Cosgrove worked to develop a fair price to make the found vehicle perfectly acceptable. The key for us is that we needed to add a 1/2 dozen aftermarket plow/cargo/tool type accomodations. Our salesman - Anthony - made many calls to coordinate this. We needed: plow push plates, plow reconditioning, wire harness transfer from the old truck, overcab materials rack, hvyduty side-to-side tool box, plow light, custom bedliner, triple hitch and 3 sets of decals! This was valuable to us because the plow dealer was in a distant town and we are a hundred or more miles up the coast. While Eric and Anthony were working to find the truck and put the whole assembly together, a neighboring salesman - William - who had nothing to personally gain from the effort, sensed that I had been in the lobby for an extended time and took the time to get me a cup of coffee and chat about what my company does, etc. The final touch was a friendly and "right-for-us" extended warranty that their back office - Jill - adapted for our unusual needs. This level of "full-team" service gave the whole experience the feeling that everyone in the dealership was personally vested in our satisfaction. It is my experience that you normally only find this level of effort from an owner-operator small business structure...and from the owner himself at that. We have annual fleet needs... we'll be back! My Dad recently got rid of his old "clunker" cars... his favorite, a 1994 Geo Tracker, just wasn't worth fixing any more. Though Dad has Parkinson's (PD), he is still able to drive fairly well, especially d favorite, a 1994 Geo Tracker, just wasn't worth fixing any more. Though Dad has Parkinson's (PD), he is still able to drive fairly well, especially during daylight hours and in a vehicle that can accomodate his disability -- e.g. he doesn't have as much strength in his arms as he used to. So, even though we'd like him to give up driving altogether (try telling him that! ;-), the family wanted to be sure that this time around -- though he might be only driving for another year or so -- he had a reliable, safe vehicle, and one that would also accommodate some equipment for trips to the boat, his trailer up north, etc. So after a downright horrific (!!) experience at Brunswick Ford (I won't even bother going into those details... let's just say they tried to take advantage of Dad's fading judgement abilities and sold him an unsafe, rusted-out Taurus that would never pass inspection!)... we stopped by Lee Toyota in Topsham (where my Mom bought her Corolla), and were immediately met by Trisha Hunter, who charmed us right from the start -- with her genuine, gentle manner with Dad -- and then continued to win our respect during test-drives and discussions of the pros and cons of each model of vehicle. Trisha spent a generous (!) amount of time with me and my Dad -- extensively test-driving both the RAV-4 and the Scion, and, like I said, answering all of our questions, over the course of several days while I was trying to get Dad to "spring for it" -- even though he didn't really want to buy a "new car". The quality of the RAV4 was readily apparent -- if I had the money (or the credit!) myself, I'd have bought one right then and there. I was definitely sold, and the re-sale value that these vehicles hold in the used marketplace are also testament to their enduring quality -- and any search online will prove that. The Scion was also a good option, for it's price-point, and if Dad were a 20-something or 30-something ;-), I think he'd have definitely gone for a Scion -- even as a new vehicle. In any case: I'd highly recommend Lee Toyota to anyone looking to purchase (or lease...) a new vehicle, and if you're unfamiliar with Toyota's various lines of "mini-SUVs", these are superb vehicles -- definitely take a test-drive and check out their quality. In particular, do ask for Trisha Hunter as she is just a superb saleswoman -- we sincerely appreciated her willingness to "go the extra mile" to make sure we got the information needed to make an informed and sensible purchase decision. Our whole experience with Trisha was so refreshingly unlike most "car dealer" experiences -- she obviously takes pride in building a longer-term customer relationship for the business, rather than obsessing on "the sale", like many dealers are apt to do -- which IMHO only leaves the potential customer feeling uncomfortable and ill. Trisha makes the experience of buying a car fun, without appearing shallow, patronizing, or pandering. My family hopes to business again with her at Lee Toyota. Thank you, Trisha! /;-) More
The customer service was outstanding and the vehicle price was just right. My mother-n-law is extremely happy with the rav4 and that makes ME happy. They said they have a 150 point inspection and they m price was just right. My mother-n-law is extremely happy with the rav4 and that makes ME happy. They said they have a 150 point inspection and they mean it. They went above and beyond what a dealer should do. Thanks a lot!! More
Ater a lengthy search beginning in Nov, 2009 and visiting 4 dealerships with sales people who either didn't know the cars well or didn't seem to care, we were pleased to step into Lee Toyota and found all of 4 dealerships with sales people who either didn't know the cars well or didn't seem to care, we were pleased to step into Lee Toyota and found all of the staff attentive & friendly. We were introduced to Eric Gaither, who was very kind & mindful about listening to and answering our questions. We had 2 vehicles (Rav & Highlander) in mind and Eric was clear about explaining all of the details of the vehicles. Eric is enthusiastic about the Toyota vehicles & knows the vehicles well! Eric even arranged to have a 2010 Rav Limited with all of the features we were interested in, driven from a dealership in Massachusetts to Maine so we could test drive it. We left Lee Toyota that day knowing that when we were ready to buy vehicle that we would definately return to Lee Toyota & ask for Eric Gaither, which is exactly what we did in February, 2010. Eric remembered that we had been in & knew what we had in mind and sold us a Highlander which we love! I highly recommend Lee Toyota and especially Eric Gaither for his genuine friendliness, professional courtesy and attention to detail. More
Being a hardened skeptic by nature, it's rare that I commend a car dealership on its service, let alone actually buy a vehicle from them. In this case, I have to make an exception, because I can't say commend a car dealership on its service, let alone actually buy a vehicle from them. In this case, I have to make an exception, because I can't say enough positive things about the car-buying experience I had with LEE in Topsham, more specifically, with William. The word I use to describe William is "genuine"- a rare term to use to describe a sales rep, I know, but I can't get over how easy he made the process. I never felt pressured and 3/4 of our discussions weren't even about buying a vehicle, yet I found a heightened sense of sincerity in all of them. Coming from another dealership where the level of professionalism absolutely tanked (and will be reviewed on this site as well), William is the epitome of what I want to experience and who I want to deal with when buying a car. I hope William is still at LEE the next time I'm in the market for another vehicle, if not, I'll track him down and buy a vehicle off him wherever he's at anyway. More
