Up front: I'm a huge Lee Toyota fan. Over the years, I've bought 3 cars from Lee, the last 2 from Joe Day (the most recent purchase just a week ago!). I absolutely can't say enough about the service and sales departments. Joe seems to view his role as much consultative as salesman, carefully helping to guide my own thinking rather than mere hard-sell persistence. Consequently, I bought exactly the auto my spouse and I needed rather than the one I'd originally considered. In making my final decision, I visited Lee's showroom floor exhaustively, and each time Joe was generous with his time and professional perspectives. When Joe was occupied, other staff cheerfully pitched in to address our concerns. We were never ignored or viewed by the staff as simply "Joe's customer." This apparent collaboration and commitment to service left us with the sense that we were buying a car from the ENTIRE sales team rather than simply Joe Day. Financing the vehicle was handled equally as pleasant as interactions with other sales dimensions. We were struck by how exhaustively detailed Joe and the sales team were in orienting us to our new car. Every feature of the vehicle was tediously introduced and explored with us to (we're convinced) ensure our satisfaction, familiarity, and safety with the purchase. I really have to hand it to Lee Auto for continually making car-buying a gratifying process for us. Meanwhile, the service side of the dealership has also been pleasing. Over the years, the service staff has scheduled us promptly (occasionally the same day of our reported repair needs). We're always expertly counseled on what our cars needs to perform well and not pressured into costly repair work of little or marginal value. Plus, the service staff is just dog-gone friendly. I highly recommend Lee Toyota to people who genuinely care about their purchasing and servicing experiences. More

I have purchased more than fifteen new vehicles in my lifetime and I have to tell you, Lee Toyota in Topsham, Maine has to be the best buying experience I've ever had. Joe Day's approach to selling vehicles is truly customer-oriented; he exceeded my expectations. In fact, he made me feel like I was his most important client while working with me in my purchase of a new Toyota Tacoma. He walked me around to meet the service managers and he went over all the operating features of the vehicle for both my wife and I the day we picked it up. I will recommend Lee Toyota Scion in Topsham, Maine to anyone looking for a vehicle and I would tell them to be sure to see Joe Day! More

As my husband recently died and I became the owner of two vehicles, I wanted to trade both of them in and purchase a new car. I was interested in purchasing a Toyota, as consumer reports report them to be a good car. Joe was very welcoming, without being condescending and proceeded to show me the car I was interested in. After some negotiation, a test drive and more negotiation, we agreed on a price. Joe spent a good deal of time showing me the dealership, establishing a date for the car to be checked out, and most importantly sitting with me in the car and going over any number of instructions for driving, reading symbols on the dash board, using speed control, adjusting the seat, mirrors, and reassuring me that if I had any questions about the car to call him. Working with Joe was a very positive experience. More

Lee was the third Toyota dealership I visited and it was by far friendlier that the others. I did not have to go back and forth on price. One offer, one counteroffer and that was that. Overall experience was good, but buying a vehicle should not be so difficult in regards to getting a fair price. It is a lttle frustrating doing the back and forth on trade in value and getting multiple qu not be so difficult in regards to getting a fair price. It is a lttle frustrating doing the back and forth on trade in value and getting multiple quotes from the dealer, each time with the indication "this is the best we can do" and then getting a slightly higher offer until reaching final agreement. This process included 7 different dollar amounts. This is my second vehicle purchase from this dealership. If and when there is a third, I hope to not have to do the extended "negotiation dance" on price again. To his credit, Joe Day was very pleasant to work with, he just gets caught in the middle having to run back and forth to the power broker behind the big desk who never came to talk with me once during the process. Jill in finace was very pleasant to work with but got her figures mixed up. I paid a cash deposit of $1134.95 in addition to my trades but she had it added up to $934.95 so she corrected that. She also did not calculate my monthly payment correctly, initially providing me information showing a payment of $398 and change per month for 48 months. I had calculated the payment to be $370.60 per month. I brought that to her attention and she re-figured and came to my amount. If I had not figured this in advance, I would have been overcharged by approximtely $1344 over 4 years. More
