I wa Utica. I called service and was told to bring it in. They were kind, curious and super helpful. They took my car in immediately and repaired it. I was 45 minutes away from home and my car wouldn't have made it there without them. I am very grateful they acted quick and repaired my car and explained everything before they started and after they finished. Wonderful Customer experience! Definitely going back. More
Do NOT buy a car from LeadCar Chevrolet Yorkville. I spent over $40K on a 2016 Silverado 2500 HD at the end of April/beginning of May of 2022. The truck had fewer than 50K miles on it when I purchased it and checked all my boxes. Mid to late July I get a check engine light. Torque converter/transmission issue. Take it to the local transmission shop who estimates $4k-$5k in repairs. Call up Leadcar and tell them I’m having these issues and I know that the powertrain warranty was up in February and that the 60 day dealer warranty ended at MOST a couple weeks before the light came on, but surely there’s something you can do to help since I just bought this. I mean, a dealership of this size MUST stand behind their cars, right? Wrong. The used car sales manager’s words to me were “We don’t choose when they break down.” He then lobbied me to bring the truck up to them so an “expert” could diagnose it because “A transmission shop will always try to sell you a transmission.” Obviously unsatisfied with this I called Chevrolet. Is there ANYTHING that can be done to help because with just over 50K miles on the truck this heavy duty 6L90 transmission should not be having this kind of issue. Surely Chevy will stand behind their product and see how crazy this is. Nope. Your problem. So, I begrudgingly drive it up to the dealership. The bed of the truck was empty, I was towing nothing, and I was the only one in the truck. The transmission fluid temp hit 241F when I pulled into the dealership. This morning the service department at Leadcar calls me to tell me that they would be looking at my vehicle and, oh by the way, there will be a $159 diagnostic fee just to look at my truck. That I just bought from them. That is broken already. When a similar issue happened to my last truck and I had both front wheel bearings on the truck break shortly after the dealership warranty from that dealer was up, there was no question; that should not have happened, we’ll absolutely cover this, and they did. The tech from LeadCar called and said I’m looking at $6100 ish to replace the transmission. Fewer than 90 days after buying a car with under 50k miles on it the thing takes a crap and these criminals want me to hand them another $6k to continue driving the overpriced heap of metal they sold me. The tech, August (who is very nice and not responsible for any of this) said he talked to the service manager about helping me out with the repairs and “didn’t get any response”. I told them that I would pay their ridiculous diagnostic fee but that they won’t be getting any more of my money and that I would be up to pick up the truck when I can. Avoid Leadcar at all costs. They pressured us to make the sale quick under the pretense that it was about which month it was sold in but you will never convince me that they didn’t already know about the transmission and just wanted it to be my problem. I should have aborted that deal as soon as the useless used car sales manager started in with that xxxx. But now here I am with a giant, truck-shaped paperweight until I dump several thousand more dollars into it. Between the dealership and Chevrolet all but laughing in my face when I pled my case to them, I think I may have bought my last General Motors vehicle. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere that stands beind their vehicles, because once Leadcar has your money, you might as well be dead to them unless I’m like lklko you’re ready to give them more money so they can tell you what’s wrong with the turd on wheels you bought from them.
