Let me tell you about my experience with these people! First of all, my husband and I have been looking everywhere for a second vehicle, preferably a truck since we will be PCSing to Georgia soon. So we drove his 1991 Capri (stick shift) from Scott AFB all the way to Laura Buick in Collinsville because we had saw online a truck we were somewhat interested in. It was little over half hour drive and we got there perfectly fine. Talked with salesman about truck, did some paperwork credit score stuff etc, and we test drove the truck. Nice truck. sales guy asks husband if he has the keys to his car. Husband says yes. sales guy asks for them. Hubby hands them to him while sitting at desk. As we are going over paperwork, hubby notices his LED lights turning on his car. then says huh, that guy wearing beads is getting in my car. (Because of St pattys day) NOTE* we were not informed ANYONE was testing our vehicle. Not much we could do after he was already pulled out of the parking spot. Ok we are thinking, they are however talking to us about using our hubbys car as a trade in, but still NO ONE informed us that they were going to test it. What if I had my purse in there? and wanted to get it out first? anyways. Sales guy says he will call us after the banks call them etc paperwork etc. Ok have a nice day. Get to enjoy the rest of my day off spring cleaning the house. WRONG. Backed out of the parking spot, was just about turning out of the dealership and hubby is looking like there is something wrong. He adjusts his seat, (as the guy testing it is much taller than my hubby) and still is looking confused. we got a block down the road and he says "uh, my clutch is gone".....what?.....He gets huffy replying "uh my clutch IS GONE...like its not there. And his rpms were just going through the roof and we were barely going 15mph. So we stopped at the wendys just down the road with a hungry 5 year old in the car after sitting at the dealership forever. So we got her food while talking about what the heck we were to do about this? We got there just fine and its just TOO coincidental that this happened as SOON as we pulled out of the car dealership. Literally. So, we called the dealership and my hubby let them know the situation and it was a pointless call. The tester said he did nothing to it and they ended the call. Okay, we are half hour from home and something has to be said and done about this. So we went back to the dealership going 10mph and it stinking to high heaven. I talked with the front staff about the situation and one salesman came over and was talking to us about our paperwork with the truck. I said yes I know we have to wait on that, thats not why we are here and proceeded to tell him our situation. Everyone was just looking around at everyone else like they didnt know what to say. We ended up walking to walmart with our daughter to wait for a ride back to base to get my car and we later returned. I asked to speak with someone higher up and the man who tested the vehicle came out instead. I started explaining the situation to him and my husband was trying to explain to him what happened and the guy was offended and obviously embarrassed in front of his peers and said he had been driving cars for 30 some years and he did not break our car. My husband again listened patiently and proceeded to tell him that if he wouldve talked to him first before testing out the car he could have told him whatever certain things about the car instead of just hopping in it and leaving. The tester was rude and went away. We continued asking what solution we could come up with with the front staff and no one was saying a thing. one salesman said it was nothing to do with them and he knows the guy who was driving our car and he wouldnt ruin our car. I calmly replied I didnt come in here to ruffle feathers, we want to know if we have to take the car off the lot, or if we can push it to another location on the property, *since we were told the trade in value wouldnt be effected even after this incident" but then were told they couldnt finance us and the only thing they could get us in is a nissan car after we already said it HAD to be a truck. Also, i wasnt really worried about getting another vehicle at that moment. I wanted to solve this problem somehow. I told them I have never been in this predicament before and just want to figure something out. The guy who tested the vehicle told us to step outside and proceeded to be very rude to us saying he did not break our car so we need to get our vehicle off the lot and go home. I told him i would be talking with the owner and he said oh you realllly dont want to talk to him about any of this. you dont want to know what he has to say about this. I said, is that because you went in the back to call him and tell him your side of the story and not ours? He continued to be rude and kept repeating to us that we needed to get our NON WORKING car off their lot and go home. I let him know that that was the worst customer service I have ever seen and I will be talking with legal and the owner about this. I didnt want things to escalate like they did. I am all about understanding and compromising and talking it over finding a solution but this was NOT the case by any means. The test guys name was Bill. Which my husband asked for his name earlier that day after the whole incident occurred and the lady wouldnt give him his name at first. He pointed to him and said I need his name. Then she wrote it down on a sticky note. Bill Korobey. We got the vehicle just past the dairy queen when it couldnt go any further..(I had my vehicle at this time) and it being st pattys a cop pulled in behind my car that was behind my hubbys and was talking to us making sure we were good. i parked mine up by steak n shake and called a tow guy. Cost me 100 bucks to get it towed back to base. Whole day drained me out emotionally and stressed me out to the point i was in tears trying to explain things at the dealership. but we got us and everything home no thanks to BUICK of Collinsville. I would advise others to PLEASE go elsewhere with your future car purchases. This place was not even friendly when we first got there and the night just snowballed into a nightmare. I will gladly take my money elsewhere. Customer satisfaction was a definite zero in this case and we were NOT treated with utmost respect or excellent service. They need a new slogan. More
Dealing with Laura Buick GMC was a pleasure. Each staff person we came in contact was professional and extremely friendly, making the process at the dearlship a pleasurable experience. We made contact with person we came in contact was professional and extremely friendly, making the process at the dearlship a pleasurable experience. We made contact with dealership and spoke a few different individuals before stopping in. At that point, we were assigned John Martin. Extremely friendly, professional and made my wife and I feel right at home. He was up front and honest from the very beginning, leaving nothing out of the equation during negotiating process. We had visited another dealership in the area looking at the same year, make and model of this vehicle but priced a little lower however the level of service we recieved compared to each other was night and day so the extra $1000 became a non-issue. Great experience all around and will definitely be keeping Laura Buick in mind on our next purchase. More
