Dealership was very responsive and willing to work with me. I live out of state and was asking about home delivery. Their rate was great, and the process was going smooth. Their third party appraisal too me. I live out of state and was asking about home delivery. Their rate was great, and the process was going smooth. Their third party appraisal took over 48 to contact me about my trade in appraisal. Ultimately this time frame was a deal breaker for me. My sales and financial guys were great to work with. More
Laura had the Sierra 2500 HD AT4X Duramax in the color I wanted on order. I live 4 hrs. away, so negotiated price difference including trade of my 2016 Silverado 2500 HD High Country Duramax w/ 64,552 mi. o wanted on order. I live 4 hrs. away, so negotiated price difference including trade of my 2016 Silverado 2500 HD High Country Duramax w/ 64,552 mi. over the phone. Laura agreed to match a deal I had with another dealer when they couldn’t get color I wanted. I paid $1,000 deposit on 4/5/24. New truck arrived 6/5/24. I had the money wired from my bank on 6/6/24 for the difference paid in full. We drove 4 hrs. and arrived at Laura at 11:30 AM on 6/8/24. The service guy drove my truck and says it needs a new pitman / idler arm and it will cost them $1,800 to fix, so I will owe an extra $1,000. They know I’ve travelled 4 hrs. to get the truck and must also think that I know nothing about vehicle repair. (AC Delco kit with all components is about $300 + 4-5 hrs. labor. Local dealership in Indiana would charge me about $800 out the door. However, I’m informed that labor at Laura is $200/hr.!!! Even so, that would be a total of about $1,300. Actual cost is closer to $50-75/hr. which is what they pay the mechanic. Don’t tell me it will “cost” you $1,800 to fix my truck when your actual cost will be closer to $550 even with retail parts cost and especially don’t try to tell me you are doing me “a favor by splitting the cost and only charging me $1,000” when you are profiting another $500. The dealership I had the previous deal with had their mechanic drive my truck and had no problems with it and gave me the same deal without any issue. Assuming repair is needed, I offer to split the difference and pay their actual cost of $500 and complete the deal. Salesman tells me that my 65k mi. rated tires are worn at about 24k due to pitman arm and tires will be $2,000. I priced new BFG AT T/A KO 2 (better than stock) mounted, balanced, road hazard warranty and free lifetime rotation for $1,500. The other dealership did not have a problem with the pitman arm or the tires. I have the truck serviced every 5-7k and neither of these things have ever been mentioned by a business that makes their money fixing trucks and selling tires. The salesman then tell me that it is out of his hands and he really hates it (typical good cop / bad cop routine), but the service guy is sticking to the $1,000 because “their actual cost before they are able to sell the truck will be $3,800.” I ask, “do I have your word that the pitman arm and the tires will be replaced before you put it up for sale” he says “yes, absolutely. We will have to do those things before we can sell it.” I say “I’ll be watching your website and I bet you don’t even replace the tires. My truck is on the website right now for $47k ($40.5k trade-in value) w/ my Mastercraft tires which they say are “good.” The same tires they promise to replace for $2,000). Now he says my trade has lost about $4,000 since we first agreed to the deal 2 mo. ago (5% in April and 5% again in May)! I researched used Chevy truck values and in the past 2 mo. the value increased by 1%, so Laura actually owes me nearly $1,000. Laura is very good at their sales tactics when they know you have driven 4 hrs. and have wired them several thousand dollars. My wife, 2 sons & I have already been at the dealership for 4 hrs., everyone is hungry and we still have a 4 hr. drive home and I’ve wired them $56k of my money, so Laura wins. I agree to the deal so we can get out of this horrible place. They do me another “favor” and fast track me through the paperwork because if not, he says we could be stuck here for another 3+ hrs. I sign all the papers and he tries selling me things that I’ve already paid for, not paying attention that the paperwork in front of him shows I’ve paid for an extended warranty, etc. According to the finance guy, we are free to go. Despite my worst dealership experience ever, I’m an honest guy so I say I would like to pay the $1,000 they are gouging me for. He didn’t even realize that I still owed $1,000. I will never return to Laura. More
