2006 Prius Inverter Water Pump Repair My 2006 Prius surprisingly died on me while on the freeway after it would not start. I smelled a burning smell and figured it was a fuse. I called Q My 2006 Prius surprisingly died on me while on the freeway after it would not start. I smelled a burning smell and figured it was a fuse. I called Quality Toyota, Larry H. Miller and spoke to a service adviser Angel Gil who said it would be $125 for a diagnostic then called me back and said I was right it was a fuse but when they put a new one in it blew again so there was a short and would be charged up to an additional $425 for more diagnosis i.e. finding the short. I was not happy but had them do it and then Angel called me and said it wasn't a short but the inverter water pump causing the short. Final bill $794.00. Ridiculous. $550 Labor. Angel charged me the maximum. I called and spoke to the former service manager Paul Gottenbos who listened to my concern and empathized and seemed to care. He helped me out a little bit and that meant the world to me. I will continue to go to Miller Toyota Corona for service. because of Paul's professionalism and kindness. More
