I deeply resent being pushed for unnecessary repairs Issues: 1. At the last oil change it was nearly TWO hours before I got the car back. 2. I was told an axle seal was leaking and needed immediate re Issues: 1. At the last oil change it was nearly TWO hours before I got the car back. 2. I was told an axle seal was leaking and needed immediate replacement. Cost ~$450 + $100 wheel alignment 3. I was told I needed a new battery. Cost >$200, plus a $50 charge to clean the battery connections. 4. I've been pushed for the past year to get new tires. Cost >$450 for lower mid-range tires. 5. Needed new cabin air filter: >$50 The final total was near $1000 My Response: 1. At my next oil change, I will refuse the 'inspection.' 2. I took the car to a trusted mechanic and had him carefully inspect the axle seal. It was fully serviceable as is, not leaking, and he advised against replacement. 3. The battery was one LMH installed two years ago! It should not have needed replacement so soon. Turns out the terminals just needed cleaning which I did myself in <5 minutes. The battery checks out just fine. 4. The tires were about due, but I decided to price tires elsewhere and got-top-of-the-line Michelins installed for a little over $100 more than the just-average tires from LMH. 5. I got a replacement cabin air filter for $18, took about 4 minutes max to change it. Separate issue: When we bought the vehicle the LMH sales manager put us under very intense sales pressure, (which I hate) to buy the maintenance package. His pitch was it would cover any and everything, specifically that if we got little dings, dents, scratches they would take care of it. So we bought it. At some point we did have a minor scrape on the front bumper and when we asked about it LMH told us we had to take it to the Honda dealer, which of course wasn't a covered service. So the service manager at the time flat out LIED to us. At the last inspection an attempt was made to gouge us for over-priced services many of which were not needed. The service package is little more than oil changes and car washes at inflated prices. Sorry, not impressed! So I'll use the remaining package but will refuse any more time-wasting, price-gouging 'inspections' and advise others to do the same. More

Battery My battery died at the car wash, they gave me a charge. Went to LM Subaru to have it checked and they had to charge it to get it back to check it. We were faithful and returning customers, having purchased a car here in the past. We recently brought our sos. Subaru in for safety recalls. It was discovered his rear struts were blown. The car ha purchased a car here in the past. We recently brought our sos. Subaru in for safety recalls. It was discovered his rear struts were blown. The car has 24k mikes and is under warranty. The service tech claimed this would not be covered and claimed the car had been abused and tried to have us fix, at the cost of $1000. We took the car to a competitor who is an authorized Subaru dealer. The blown struts were in fact covered under the original bumper to bumper 36k mike warranty and were fixed at no cost to us. More
