Landmark Honda of Alexandria Service Department Blues Before either trading in or selling my 2010 Honda CRV, I wanted to get the defective airbag issue( as per a Honda of America letter) Upon contacting H Before either trading in or selling my 2010 Honda CRV, I wanted to get the defective airbag issue( as per a Honda of America letter) Upon contacting Honda of America they informed me that ALL Honda dealerships are suppose to replace the defective airbags during normal service department operating hours, which would obviously include Saturdays free of charge. Bear in mind FREE means FREE, right? And that means any Honda dealership is not making profit as a service technician is tied up unable to reap $$$ for the dealership. A Landmark Honda service writer told me they don't schedule defective airbag replacements on Saturday, when others clearly do like Brown's Honda of Arlington, which is where I went for service last Saturday 09/24/16. The honest professionalism of service writers Ms.Shemeka, and Mr.Deemer have won a new customer be it sales or service!! More

New car surprise! I came in to Landmark Honda today for a service issue with my '08 CRV. It turned out to be a bigger issue than I wanted to deal with and since I've be I came in to Landmark Honda today for a service issue with my '08 CRV. The front end of my truck was shaking I discussed it with Sean Kearney, my long time service team leader. He explained it very thoroughly, I can say it was the front axle thing. He explained the cost and how long I "had" before it would cause other issues, which I appreciate. I made an appointment for a few weeks later. I dropped my truck off the night before, requesting to pick it up at 2 pm. Sean called me in the morning, and before 2 pm to tell me the work was completed. It was just under $800 using valued customer coupons that I appreciate too!!! Sean has always been honest and professional with me. There is never an attempt to pile on extra things to fix Sean and the Tan Team are the reason my vehicle serviced at Landmark. He is definitely an asset to Landmark and a role model for others to learn from! More
Always Excellent Service from Sean K. First off, I am shocked to see any negative comment about Sean Kearney. He is the reason I have my car serviced at Landmark. He has been my service manager for 6 years and I have nothing but great things to say about him and the recommendations he has made. He has never lied to me or ripped me off. He has been honest, professional and patient. I always get a full explanation of the suggested work Then I always ask, how long can it wait and what is the priority. My Honda CRV is 12 years old and has 89K miles on it. I know I am going to have to do some big scheduled maintenance in the next year or so. I too had the "slow leak" and there was a nail in the sidewall. I could have gotten it plugged for $25. I also know it weakens the sidewall and when I am hauling down I-95 with everyone else, I do not want my tire to blow. And I never paid $200 for a tire. Sean suggested a front end alignment, I told him it was not in my budget. That was it, No intimidation, no evil, no "you'll be sorry" Could I go to the tire store and buy a cheaper tire, and pay less for installation Probably. HOWEVER, Landmark and Sean like to maintain their reputations. You can read my years of comments on Landmark Honda, Sean & Dave (my previous service manager) on Dealer Rater, Google & Yelp. I am a tough customer and am not about to fall for some sham recommendation I would like to add that I get preferred customer discounts that really help. I also get my car back when I need it back Last week I got an oil change & front end alignment, had them check a light and the movement of the window on the driver door. Then the dreaded call... brakes. Well the truck is 12 years old, it's bound to need new brakes eventually, I am not messing around with my safety and do not want to rear end anyone and you know how quickly we have to stand on the brakes in our traffic. I know no one wants to hear they have to spend $200-500 they were going to use for something else and yes, it will make some people mad. It is what it is but it's not because Sean Kearney is a bum. You don't get the service awards and recognition Sean has received by being a con artist. Sean will be my service manager as long as I am driving a Honda (hey, forever!) DISHONEST QUOTE FOR A REPAIR LYING TO PRICE GOUGE?!?! YOU JUST LOST A LONG-TIME CUSTOMER... It really breaks my heart to write this, but I will NEVER purchase another vehicle n LYING TO PRICE GOUGE?!?! YOU JUST LOST A LONG-TIME CUSTOMER... It really breaks my heart to write this, but I will NEVER purchase another vehicle nor service my current vehicle at Landmark Honda again. After buying two (2) vehicles from them, having both vehicles ONLY dealer-serviced for 10 and 6 years, respectively (with the exception of one brake repair by someone else to try to save money--you will see why below), spending well over ten thousand dollars on service alone over the years, AND referring someone who also purchased a vehicle from them, it's disheartening and heartbreaking to me that Sean Kearney would flat out LIE about the ability to do a repair. I am well aware that Landmark Honda and probably most dealers overcharge for service, but I have always paid it because they also seem to repair their vehicles the best. When Larry Shifflett, the current manager of the Service Department, was my team service manager, he was OUTSTANDING (no wonder he was promoted)! He was honest and always gave me discounts to make the cost more reasonable. However, with my second vehicle, they found something that needed to be repaired each time I went that would cost a minimum of several hundred dollars to fix--if not more. In fact, right after I purchased the vehicle that they said was in great condition and didn't require any repairs, they turned around and told me a couple of months later that it needed $1,200 of work!! In hindsight, that was a red flag but I still trusted them so I kept servicing my vehicle there. Recently, I took my vehicle to complete a series of repairs that cost over $2,000. I had a slow leak in one of my tires and asked if they could look at it and fix it, if possible. They did, and told me there was a nail that was too close to the rim and I would need a new tire for $200. I told Sean I have NEVER paid that much for one tire and was not about to. Today, I went to Kingstowne Auto Care; they said there was a tiny nail and repaired the tire for $25.00!!!!!! $25.00!!!!! After purchasing two (2) vehicles from Landmark Honda, having them serviced there faithfully for 16 years, paying thousands upon thousands of dollars in service fees AND referring someone else, they LIE to me to try to make $200?!?! Really, Sean?!?! I am beyond disappointed and hurt by their dishonesty, lack of loyalty and appreciation for a long-time customer. Clearly, that means absolutely nothing to Sean. As they saying goes, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Well, you have likely fooled me many times in recent years but I trusted you so I kept returning. But now that I know you intentionally LIED to try to fool me again, shame on me if I trust you again. It's almost time for me to purchase another vehicle but I have such a bad taste in my mouth that it's highly unlikely I will purchase another Honda. Hope it was worth it... More

As he was writing my work order I noticed he had recently received the Gold Award, Circle of Excellence rating. I asked him about it. Modestly, he explained it was based on multiple facets of his work as a service manager. Wow! I have the right guy as my service manager. I checked around. This is a big deal, it is based on a high level of customer satisfaction, his superb representation of the Honda brand and continued training to stay abreast of current business practices. Yes, that is Sean, in fact, he was training a new employee to become a service manager. Not only am I continuously pleased in the quality of service I receive by Sean, it is the work ethic of all the folks I encounter at Landmark from the cashiers to the valets and the shuttle ride to the Van Dorn Metro! I was hearing a noise under my car , that was driving me completely crazy so I called Landmark Honda and they told me to bring it right in. They never gave up on finding the problem with my car and they kept me updated on everything that they were doing. Its nothing like having someone show you that they care so much about you getting your car back. They had to keep my car for two day but they made sure I had a car to go on with my everyday task. I am stationed at Fort Myer so I have to come get servicing and check ups from time to time. Everytime I come Mr. Durant makes sure that I have everything I need and that I am squared away. He has the best customer service and greets me everytime with a smile.
