My husband and I recently decided to go buy a “new” to us vehicle. We’ve been working a while on our credit and have really improved it. I work until five and we were driving an hour to come check out vehicl vehicle. We’ve been working a while on our credit and have really improved it. I work until five and we were driving an hour to come check out vehicles so we got there around 7pm an hour before close. We got the vibe pretty much immediately that we were being rushed on picking a vehicle because it was time for close and he said something about closing a few times. Still he was nice enough and we didn’t think much about it. We picked the vehicle we wanted to try to get and went inside to do business. Well, the credit app kept freezing at the end on both my husbands and my phone. Well, the salesman made a few comments about our phones messing up even though we have newer iPhones. He also was obviously annoyed. My husband told me well it’s not meant to be and we should leave. But he insisted we try the app on his phone and of course it went through. Which is fine. We really should have walked away before this point and that’s on us. We were told our credit would be ran 3 or 4 times total to find us a bank. Our credit scores were also showing about fifty points lower than they actually are because we check them religiously and know what our credit is. Well it was late and he needed to run it one more time today which I get because the sales and finance manager wasn’t there. Okay, great. Well as of noon today, my credit has SEVEN hard inquiries from them running it. SEVEN. There’s never a need for that. I then decided to call and speak to the so-called sales manager who got super defensive and wouldn’t even let me speak hardly. He said he would “talk to JT” about being condescending and kinda rude to us and in a hateful tone said “well we can fix that and just stop running your credit” uh thanks! Should have already done that. Next thing I know my husband called me and said the salesman reached out to him, told him we would “have to” have a down payment. Keep in mind the night before we were told capital one denied us even though we use them a lot. When my husband told him for what seemed like the millionth time that we were not willing to do a down payment, then he said well capital one approved y’all. Oh they did? And let me guess, it affected the commission so he constantly continues running our credit to get himself a higher payout. Greed at his finest. Even made a comment about believing in God during conversation. Yeah, right. After I made a fb post about our experience and to not ever buy from Landers toyota, my friends started coming out of the woodworks about their bad experiences with this same place. Even when my credit is excellent and I can get a lower rate and no down payment I would rather walk everywhere than deal with these people. They’re not above lying to people. It has zero to do with them not being able to make us a deal. I get that it’s out of their control to an extent but these people are a joke. Save yourself the time and the million hard inquiries. Our anger is coming from being lied to multiple times. We will be posting this review on every social media platform, contacting the BBB, contacting Toyota corporate, doing what we can to have all but one of the hard inquiries removed, and we will be blasting this anywhere and everywhere we can. DO NOT USE LANDERS TOYOTA. Dig deep and look at other reviews. There’s so many red flags about this place. If you do decide to not take my advice and go, do not use JT! He will lie to your face multiple times and even when caught, will continue to lie. This is why car salesmen have bad reputations! More
We had a unique situation and they were all set to sell us the car. Until they got the pre-approval for the loan. The pre-approval was for more than price on car. Even though other dealership told us that . The advertised price is only if you are financing with them. People purchase cars and houses online all the time and never even step foot in the building. He took the deal to his manager they realized they could have gotten more money out of us . And made a stupid excuse why they couldnt sell us the car. We could have provided anything they needed to prove it was not a straw deal as they called it. More

I have used Landers previously for service to my vehicles but after today’s experience I will never use them again! Landers will never get another penny of my money. And I’ll make sure my close family never buys from there either. But, some good did come from my horrible experience with Spencer…I sold my vehicle for more than he offered and bought on a brand new 2023 vehicle with Russell Chevrolet. Thanks to Spencer’s horrible attitude and demeanor, Landers lost a customer and Russell gained one. More
Made appoint on Saturday, August 20th for Wednesday, August 24th to have a Crankshaft Position Sensor replaced. After arriving they advised that I replace my 2 rear tires because of the tread depth. I r August 24th to have a Crankshaft Position Sensor replaced. After arriving they advised that I replace my 2 rear tires because of the tread depth. I received a quote and accepted it. First they had ordered the wrong Crankshaft Position sensor, which was the main reason why I brought the vehicle in for service. The new crankshaft sensor arrived 1 week and 2 days later. After leaving the dealership I noticed that my truck was driving weird. My partner noticed that my back rear tire was wobbling bad. This is one of the tires that was replaced. My truck was unable to be used for over a week be cause of the combination of bad Crankshaft Position sensor and wobbling tire. I brought my vehicle back in for service on Saturday, September 3rd. One day after the Crankshaft Position sensor finally arrived. They claim that I have a bent wheel axel causing the wobble and gave me a nearly $3000 estimate to repair. My truck did not have a bent wheel axel when I brought it in initially, but now has a bent wheel axel according to Landers Toyota. Estimates are extremely high and they may damage your vehicle. More
