Went in for PCM update walked out with $700 charge I went in for a PCM update (and airbag recall). My Jeep was throwing some manufacturer codes of 1621 and 1622. I had read online that it was probably I went in for a PCM update (and airbag recall). My Jeep was throwing some manufacturer codes of 1621 and 1622. I had read online that it was probably needing a software upgrade rather then an O2 sensor replacement. I had already replaced 2 sensors so I wanted to be sure I wasn’t throwing away money on new sensors if the PCM needed a software update. The tech spent $375 worth of hours (labor only) analyzing just to replace another (or perhaps one of the new) O2 sensors. I had asked for the old sensor in case it was one I just bought - I didn’t get it back. I could have replaced the old sensors myself for about $100...instead of $700. More
I bought two cars from this dealership in one day and no complementary car is offered or available when one needs warranty work?!?
