I payed way, way too much for this vehicle I was wanting a decent car for my wife. Were in our late 70's, and didn't want to spend a lot of money. They had this 2012 Grand Caravan for $8500. I traded in a 2003 Chdrysler Town & Country with a few problems that I mentioned to the sales manager. The sticker on the auto I was looking at said it had dealer warranty. I went to pay, and they said that it had no warranty. they also didn't tell me of any problems with the van. I tell people about businesses that treat my honestly, and I certainly tell them about dealers or businesses that arent quite honest. Will I deal with, or recommend LANDERS to anyone? Chris Lippincott (internet manager) provided additional info and emailed us documents for our review. I jumped on an airplane and flew from our home in Florida to Missouri. Pete Hizen, our salesman, picked me up at the airport and drove one hour back to the dealership. The car was cleaned, gassed up and ready to go when we arrived. I've been a General Sales Manager in the auto industry for over 25 years and recognize excellence when I see it. Purchase took entirely too long to complete. I found the vehicle I wanted through CarGurus, for a very fair price at this dealership. The only problem was that it was four hours away. I asked about getting it shipped to my home to save me the time and trouble of driving so far during the COVID-19 pandemic lock-down. The dealership seemed to have no interest in helping me to locate an auto transport service, or even provide a guess on what it might cost. After a couple of days of checking out auto transport companies, I determined that my sister and I would just save the extra expense and drive to Joplin and pick up the vehicle ourselves. We notified the dealership on Wednesday that we’d be coming down on Friday, around 1:00 pm. We even called from the road when we were about an hour away to confirm our arrival. It took every bit of three hours to sign papers, hand them a cashiers check for the full selling price, and drive away. It should have taken only thirty minutes maximum to finish the deal and drive away. Everything had been settled over the telephone on Wednesday, including the up-sale of an extended warranty! How freaking long would it have taken if I had made my purchase with a trade-in, to fill out a loan application, and an extended warranty? Inexcusable. More
