Buyer Beware. Dealership likes to "change policies" BUYERS BEWARE!!! Do not purchase your vehicle from Land Rover Peabody. The worst management/customer service I have ever encountered. I bought a cert BUYERS BEWARE!!! Do not purchase your vehicle from Land Rover Peabody. The worst management/customer service I have ever encountered. I bought a certified pre-owned RR sport here in 4/17 at which time I was guaranteed by sales person Eric McNerney and the sales manager that for any future service they would provide me a loner and pick up and return my vehicle to my residence on the South shore. I could have bought the vehicle at a LR dealership closer to my residence, but I was assured this service would be provided, and it "sealed the deal." I live less than 50 miles away which was the limit Peabody would be willing to travel to. In 4/18, I had my yearly oil change/routine service without any issues. Last week I was scheduled to have the yearly service and received 2 emails from LR Peabody confirming the appointment and that they were picking the vehicle up at my residence and providing a loaner. On the morning of scheduled pick up I received a call from the service manager that policy has changed and they would not provide valet service due to the distance that I lived. I demanded to speak to the GM at which time I was transferred to Sales Manager Matt Raucci. I tried in vain to argue that I was promised this service when purchasing the vehicle, and Mr. Raucci's response was more or less, "policies change..." I indicated that I understood policies can be changed, but that should affect new customers, not previous customers who purchased a vehicle from that location for that expressed service. My argument fell on deaf ears. When I asked what the new policy was regarding providing valet service, meaning how many miles was Peabody willing to travel to now, Mr. Raucci indicated that they were not necessarily changing the miles they would travel, but rather they were looking at traffic patterns! So basically because I live on the South Shore and Peabody would encounter more traffic with the ongoing road construction between the North and South Shores, I am now being penalized and LR Peabody is completely reneging on their deal with me. I then demanded to speak to the GM, Dave Edwards. Mr. Raucci indicated he would relay my message to the GM. A short time later, Mr. Raucci called me back and said because I complained they would pick up my vehicle from my home, but this would be the last time. Honestly, like they were doing me this huge favor to honor the terms of the sale!! I was so disappointed with this response that I declined to have Peabody do my yearly service because I felt so undervalued as a customer. Why would I want to give them $700+ for an oil change now? I tried to reason with Mr. Raucci that LR Peabody would prefer to lose me as a customer over what is most likely 1 drive a year to my home. This was beyond unfair to the customer and such a poor business decision. Mr. Raucci callously responded, "sorry you feel that way..." I welcomed a call from the GM to discuss this further and try to come to some reasonable way to resolve this matter. It has been 12 days since this interaction. I have never heard from GM Edwards or anyone else from LR Peabody. Obviously, they don't care about the customer or retaining the business. It's unfortunate. There are way too many other vehicles and dealerships out there to give your hard earned money to than do business with an outfit that can hide behind a "policies change" attitude when it's convenient for them. I have been a loyal Land Rover customer, having owned and operated 6 Range Rovers over the last 20 years. Given this, I would say that I am pretty knowledgeable of the the different Range Rover vehicles. I know the market, what dealers pay, mark-ups of MSRP’s and have a pretty sharp sense for what is a fair price for dealers. Rusty Johnsen is truly AMAZING. I have bought my last several vehicles from him - bottom line, because I trust him. He is extremely tuned in to my no nonsense approach and is respectful of my understanding of the brand. He never gives me the marketing xx because he knows that if he did, it would just go in one ear and out the other. Being female, I also appreciate how he never takes me for stupid like the other Land Rover dealerships, Sudbury in particular. Finally, he never pressures me and never resorts to those pesky annoying follow-up phone calls. Each and every time I have bought a vehicle from Rusty he has gone out of his way to answer any of my questions. On my recent purchase, I texted him late into the evening with questions I had between 2 different vehicle models. We were texting late into the evening. When I had a question about the interior of 2 different model years, he took the time to go to the car and video-tape himself pointing out the various features on the dashboard and sent it to me. Rusty is a quality salesperson through and through. If you’re in the market for a Land Rover vehicle, I would recommend Rusty of Land Rover Peabody to anyone. He is warm, friendly, and trust-worthy. Having been a sales rep for Land Rover for so many years, he knows every detail about the vehicles. Rusty and the management team at Peabody are the BEST. While I’m not a fan of the unfriendly sales group at the Sudbury dealership and the heavy tactics they employ, I am a big fan of the Sudbury Land Rover Service department. They have undergone a lot of staff turnover over the years, but now have a great team in place. I love Tom in Sudbury’s service department. He is very responsive, professional and thorough. No one better than Rusty Johnson! I bought my last 3 Range Rovers from Rusty. I was so upset when I went to Sudbury and learned he was no longer there. Thankfully, I was able to track I bought my last 3 Range Rovers from Rusty. I was so upset when I went to Sudbury and learned he was no longer there. Thankfully, I was able to track him down! I drove well over 100 miles from the Berkshires to Peabody because I knew it was worth every mile! Rusty is honest and unbelievably knowledgeable. I'm so relieved I didn't jump at the first SUV I saw on that initial day in Sudbury. He fit me with my latest Rover and I could not be happier. After taking time with me, he knew exactly which model would best meet my needs and was able to ensure all my picky requests were fulfilled. I walked away on day one with my new Rover without one once of concern or regret. I'm thrilled! So happy I was able to connect with him once again. Wish all my customer service experiences were of this caliber. SLB More
Super Easy Transaction through Rusty Johnsen I have had Land Rover SUVs for the past 20 years, and I have used Rusty Johnsen as my sales person for the last 4 vehicles. Even though Rusty moved fr I have had Land Rover SUVs for the past 20 years, and I have used Rusty Johnsen as my sales person for the last 4 vehicles. Even though Rusty moved from the Sudbury dealership to Peabody which is much further from me, I used Rusty. I never even had to go to the dealership. I spoke to Rusty once over the phone about what I wanted in my new car, and the rest of our discussions were through texting. Pat delivered the car to me and went over all the bells and whistles. The whole transaction was super easy. I highly recommend Rusty. More

I wasn't sure at first because I live close to the Hanover and Norwood LR dealerships - I went to both those dealerships and in the end I called Rusty anyway and am so glad I did! He was professional, honest, direct, and made the process painless! He gave me all the time I needed to decide, answered all my questions and was never trying to sell me the car. He was helping me buy the car. A big difference! He offered me a fair deal and was fully transparent with pricing. Very glad I traveled the extra distance to find Rusty - he was worth it! More

He is the consummate “Sales Guide and Advisor” and not just a salesman. He is a professional who is very knowledgeable about Land Rovers and Jaguars, their performance parameters, and their available options. His level of customer care and his drive to achieve the customer's complete satisfaction, no matter what the issue, are second to none. There is never any pressure and the process gets even more pleasurable every time. He makes the car buying process enjoyable, which is what it should be. He cares so much about his customers that on a few occasions has even driven to our home to deliver a vehicle and an item that we left behind at the dealership. To me he’s the gold standard and the measuring stick for what an auto sales guide should be. I have purchased other vehicles form Audi, Mercedes and BMW dealerships, but the experience I have had with Rusty has never been matched, which is why I keep going back to him and the rest of the professionals at Land Rover Peabody and in doing so, I pass up on two other Land Rover dealerships closer to my home!!!
