Just to be clear, we recommended the necessary repairs to your vehicle on two separate occasions which you chose to decline and bring to an outside repair shop not certified to properly service your vehicle. Your vehicle has additional issues that the outside repair shop was unable to diagnose and fix as they do not have the expertise or equipment to handle. And to be clear to you Tom: necessary repairs were not made to my vehicle by your dept AND the outside repair shop was actually the shop that did diagnose and fix my vehicle correctly, NOT Land Rover Service. I have declined service at your shop in the past for unnecessary repairs due to cost; I always maintain and service all pertinent repairs. You mention "expertise" - that's exactly what Land Rover is lacking: the expertise to diagnose the issue at hand. Any good mechanic would want to review service history to make proper decisions when diagnosing a vehicle; especially when a car keeps coming back for the same problem. Even though Land Rover has my past history in their system, for some reason Land Rover overlooks past work which is pertinent. Is this done because you are commission based? This review is written in the hopes your dept can make changes to better understand your vehicles. In any service industry you should be asking yourself how can we do better for our customers? Mercedes of New Rochelle is a perfect example - they diagnose the problem and fix it right the first time. They maintain past service history and communicate with the customer and relay concerns. While your dept does communicate and relay issues, I cannot trust that the work will be done properly and correctly the first time around. It has happened on too many occasions. I cannot afford to keep going back to your dept and paying money again and again to fix the same problem. I find it interesting you commented on the review instead of contacting me directly to see how you could help the issue at hand. If it were my service dept, I would do all I could to find out what the cause of the problem is and how I could fix it for my customer. I guess I have been in sales too long because I know I would never jeopardize losing a customer.
