My husband and I have owned only Toyota vehicles for over thirty years now. I just moved to Lakeland three months ago and visited your Service Dept for the first time this week and it will be my last. My husband and I will also not be purchasing our next Toyota from your dealership. We will go elsewhere because of your Service Dept which falls way short of Gettel (once Palm) Toyota in Punta Gorda Fl and Milton Reuben Toyota in Augusta GA. The Toyota battery I had in my Highlander was purchased 2.5 years ago at Milton Reuben. Your service Dept said the battery was bad yet would NOT ‘pro-rate’ the battery and give me some sort of credit like other Toyota Service Dept’s and even Auto Zone gives pro-rated credits. I was charged the full price for your Toyota battery and the 2.5 year old Toyota battery was removed. After two hours of phone calls by your Service manager to Milton Ruben I was furious I was kept that long in trying to verify this battery’s info (battery said right on it TOYOTA). I was very upset the time it was taking and yet I was still charged full price for another battery (Even Auto Zone and other Toyota Service Dept have always give a prorated credit back to customer BUT NOT Lakeland Service Dept). My battery still shows as low on dashboard like previous batter you removed. Maybe my battery was not bad after all and it just needed a jump start that one morning this week. And your service manager said ‘there is no lifetime warranty on any batteries’, yet my Toyota truck has a Toyota LIFETIME battery that was installed in late 2019 from Milton Reuben. Not happy with my first visit to your dealership’s Service Dept. Your Service Dept falls way short in how other Toyota Dealerships have treated my husband and me. I’m out almost $230.00, I got charged the $90 diagnostic fee to just check for a simply start up battery failure on my Highlander (start up battery and NOT the hybrid battery). I was NOT given a credit either for the prorated Toyota battery that was only 2.5 years old which actually under that batteries warranty I should have received at least a 50% credit BUT your service manager that day, she said “NO prorated credit will be given and I still had to also pay $90 diagnostic charge). Awful.
