Terrible Service Took our 2012 Genesis Coupe here for a check engine light in June. Service Dept charged me $100 to reset the check engine light and said everything w Took our 2012 Genesis Coupe here for a check engine light in June. Service Dept charged me $100 to reset the check engine light and said everything was fine and to bring it back if the check engine light came back on. A month later the car would not start. Had it towed to Lake Norman Hyundai where it was diagnosed with a stretched timing chain which had done significant damage to the engine. Was quoted $2200 for repair. Asked the Service Manager, Kurt Joseph for help and he said they had done everything correctly and that there was nothing he could do for me. Went to the dealership manager, Rick Grey, who literally told me to take it to the dealership that I bought it from. I also called the Regional Manager, Greg Pavolov who told me that it was not his job to talk to customers about their problems. Wow, I never thought I could experience such consistently poor service. I eventually had the car towed to a local engine shop and they replaced the timing chain for less than $1000. I will NEVER take my car to Lake Norman Hyundai and will NEVER consider purchasing another Hyundai based on the way that I was treated at Lake Norman Hyundai. More
Very poor communication regarding pending warranty work For the past two years, I have suffered a "fool's paradise" regarding the bad communication offered by the Dealership. Over two years there has never been one phone call confirming my warranty parts were on hand to repair my Genesis. From tires to internal repair work, not one phone call to confirm my warranty work was in and please bring in my car. The last time, four months ago, they gave me a free oil change because the parts were never ordered. Today, four months later, still no phone call. My lease was expiring I was serious about rolling into the new Genesis 90, I met with the Genesis salesman, who made me look up my payoff, he was "too busy," I called him two days later, left a voice mail message, he never called me back about the new car, can you imagine? Needless to say, I went back to Audi and their tremendous service. As much as I loved my Genesis, Lake Norman Hyundai taught me to leave the car. More

He was very short and did not even offer his card or name for a rerun visit. Salesman promoted service when I purchased car, never mentioned needing appointment weeks in advance for basic service. The Toyota dealership I went to in Farmington nm had a template that they went over with you, this dealership just claims they did it and it looks fine. Ill try the Toyota dealership next time, and I wouldn't recommend this place. More

I spoke with Morris who informed me that they were taking appointments 4 days out but when I mentioned we were only in Cornelius for 4 days, he told me to bring the vehicle by so that he could check what was appointments 4 days out but when I mentioned we were only in Cornelius for 4 days, he told me to bring the vehicle by so that he could check what was wrong. I dropped the car off at 4pm and got a call 2 hours later that I needed a new transmission. Long story short, he got me back on the road 2 days later. THAT'S customer service. More
