Lake Norman Hyundai has forced me to write this unfavorable review. I took my Hyundai Elantra there on Thursday October 17th for a diagnostic. They claimed they did a diagnostic and came back stati unfavorable review. I took my Hyundai Elantra there on Thursday October 17th for a diagnostic. They claimed they did a diagnostic and came back stating I needed a fuel injection cleaning, which I had just had done there about 3 weeks earlier. They then stated that I needed a cabin filter, which I had just had replaced a week prior. When informed Macy that those things had been done, she stated let’s not worry about that, you need an alternator and belt. I had had my alternator and starter tested and was told they were fine and I told Macy this, but not knowing I paid to have the alternator and belt done, this was over $1000.00. Two days later on Saturday the 19th my car started once again doing the exact same thing, I called Lake Norman Hyundai and the receptionist stated that she was sending Macy a text means she should be reaching out to me Monday. I waited for her call on Monday and Tuesday, no call either day. I called Wednesday and they scheduled an appointment for me to come in Thursday. I also told them I wanted a copy of the diagnostic report as well as the interpretation and I was told by Macy that they do not keep them, they send them to accounting. At that point I asked is there someone in account I can speak with and Macy called and Jack Cipolla, the assistant service manager, came up and spoke with me. After explaining the situation to him he requested that I bring the car back when I could leave it so they could try and get the car to duplicate Ethel hesitation it was doing when starting. I explained to Jack that I thought it was the fuel pump, as I had spoken with another mechanic and Jack’s response was he did not want to do the fuel pump and charge me. I then asked Jack for a copy of the diagnostic report and interpretation and was told he would have to see if he could call and get a copy. At this point my suspicions of the diagnostic bony being done were really heightened. I took the car back the following Wednesday and they kept my car Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. When I called to check the status of my car I was told we can not get it to duplicate, so I stated I would be coming to pick my car up. I again requested a copy of the diagnostic report and interpretation at that point they finally presented me with one that was not complete. When I went to pick my car up it was parked under trees with about 2 days worth of leaves on it, which let me know that my car had not been touched the entire time it was there. I asked for an estimate for the fuel injection repair and was informed that everyone was about to leave by Jack and I would have to come back to get the estimate. Needless to say I do not and will not be returning. I then called and spoke with Jack and informed him that I wanted a refund because they had not done a diagnostic nor did they fix the problem. They replaced an alternator that did not need replacing and a belt that was not squealing or making any noise. This concertos place on Thursday November 7th and Jack told me he would need to speak with someone else, I think his name was Marques or Martin, I know it began with a “M”. As of today Friday November 8th, I have not heard back from anyone at Lake Norman Hyundai. I guess since I am a female my concerns are not worth them taking care of. I HIGHLY ADVISE YOU DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO LAKE NORMAN HYUNDAI! As they obviously pick and chose which customers they try to satisfy and they obviously think I am an uninformed female! I guess they feel like we have your money and there is nothing you can do about it! LAKE NORMAN HYUNDAI NO LONGER CARES ANOUT ALL OF THEIR CUSTOMERS, THEY NOW ONLY CARE ABOUT SATISFYING AND ENSURING CERTAIN CUSTOMERS ARE COMPLETELY SATISFIED! If you want your car serviced correctly and if you want the work you paid to have done DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO LAKE NORMAN HYUNDAI!! More
If you desire responsiveness and a reliable car, please do not purchase here! My 73 year old Mom drove over two hours to purchase a vehicle after her car was destroyed by a microburst. In the three months that she has had the vehicle, her fog lights are not working, the cameras are not functioning, and now the brakes are scrubbing. We have tried several times to get the situation handled and no responses recently. This is not the way that we treat the elderly with limited funds!!! We even took the vehicle to another Hyundai Dealership and they provided documentation that the car was not properly inspected before the purchase, still no response other than some rodents could have chewed on the wires. According to documentation and pictures that were provided, this did not happen. I appeal to you to please do not purchase at this dealership especially if you want the comfort and security in your purchase!!!! More

Bought a lemon here, which is out of the dealership's control; but they really did not try to make it right either. Very little communication from the service department, when I tried to call and get so control; but they really did not try to make it right either. Very little communication from the service department, when I tried to call and get some necessary documentation for buy back I was told I would have it within 15 minutes, and then 2 hours later had to follow and basically have to go to the actual dealership to get any help at all. Also, was told I was 'projecting' when I got upset about the process because the service person 'didn't sell me a bad car' - I can't imagine treating a customer, who was sold a bad product by my company, like this. Just so little done to make it right it's astounding. I will never consider a Hyundai again. More
Zero communication from service department. My car was towed in to their service on 6 days ago for theft damage repairs. My insurance already inspected and processed the claim at their shop. I've been calling everyday since then to get an update on my car, no update so far, not even an acknowledgement that they have started working on the car. Someone picks up the phone and will ask you to leave message for service department and say that they will call back. No one ever calls back. My service advisor name is Bobby. I have his number too but it is useless. He will never respond to your calls. More

Had one minor issue a few days after buying the car and they took care of it immediately, even though I bought the car used and they owed me nothing. Will recommend LKN Hyundai to anyone in the market for a new or used vehicle! More

Service department communication is just awful. I had my vehicle there for three months with an engine issue, I always had to call them, they never kept me informed about what was going on. When I finally got my car back it was filthy having sat under a tree with sap for 3 months. Then the car died in 3 miles of driving off the lot, I didnt even get a sorry. I called and left messages with the service manager and the General Manager, no response. Ive had Hyundai vehicles for almost 20 years. I was considering purchase of a new Ioniq 5 EV from this dealership. When I contacted them, they provided me a quotation for this new car that was greater than $9000 OVER the sticker price! For a car that does not even qualify for the IRS electric vehicle tax rebate. But this wasn't the worst part. This dealership did a hard credit pull on my credit reports without my knowledge or approval! Clearly illegal. I've bought a different brand new car. I will never consider a Hyundai ever again. More
