Whoever did the "inspection" on my car before I bought it must have been blind! They left and didn't replace the serpentine belt that had a 4 inch gash in it and then I had to replace a pulley to go along with the belt. Back Breaks went very quickly after I bought my Explorer and then on top of it when they replaced the front breaks they put them on backwards. I wouldn't recommend the service department at all! More

Unless you want to babysit them do not buy a car I will never buy another car or recommend this dealership. We were first looking at a used Toyota Highlander and then we discovered that the brand new I will never buy another car or recommend this dealership. We were first looking at a used Toyota Highlander and then we discovered that the brand new ones were similar in price because of the discounts and manufacture rebates Toyota was offering. This was awesome and we were super excited about getting a new vehicle. Our experience of buying a new vehicle was the worst ever. We came in on a Saturday and had made a decision on which one we were going to buy two hours prior to them closing. Well we continued to sit there for three hours before we even signed the paperwork. We felt very rushed when signing the paperwork and after 3.5 hours we were sent on our merry way. We purchased the Michigan package which you have to bring your car back and they give you a rental car for the day. It was scheduled by the sales rep and I came in that morning to drop our car off and go to work with the rental. I asked the service guy if they were going to detail it before they apply the protection because they didn't have a chance to detail it before we got the car and he said yes. When you are signing the paperwork for the rental they state gas should be at a quarter of a tank when you drop it back off. Whatever not a big deal because I was only driving to work and back. Well they gave me a car that was on E that only had 20 miles left on the tank. The guy drove it up for me so I don't know why he didn't notice. Again whatever I will just put $20 in. I had to or I wasn't going to make it to work. When I came back to pick up my vehicle at the end of the day the service guy didn't know where they parked my car and said it was in the back parking lot somewhere. Didn't come out to make sure I found it he just pointed in the direction of where it "could" be located. Well I found it and when I looked inside the vehicle there were marks all over the black leather from whatever they applied. It looked like complete crap and I took it home for my husband to see to make sure I wasn't just seeing things. Called the next day and spoke with the sales manager and he had some one come pick up my car and they detailed it for me. Great! Well we thought everything was wonderful until we noticed on the loan paperwork from the bank that they wrote down the wrong purchase price of the vehicle. Labadie didn't give us the $2800 discount that was agreed on when we purchased the car. The sales manager did send us a check to make it right but still what a headache. We are lucky we noticed or we would have been out $2800. We thought we were in the clear of all the headaches. Well.... we were waiting for our new license plate and registration to come in the mail because they said it would be sent to us. After 4 weeks of waiting we finally went to the secretary state to see what was going on. They told us it was sent to the dealership and that our temporary had expired over two weeks ago and if we were driving the vehicle it would be illegally so we had to pay $5 to get a replacement plate. What the heck! No one called us or sent anything in the mail that our plate was at the dealership. Sure enough I called there the next day and they have it. Now I am going to have to ask them to repay us the $5 for us having to replace the plate so we could drive our new car legally. What a mess! Never ever buy a car from them unless you are prepared for them to screw a bunch of stuff up. More
Get It In Writing! ! I thought I did, but later discovered that the promise made to me when I bought the car didn't exist (although the sales rep did remember it clearl ! I thought I did, but later discovered that the promise made to me when I bought the car didn't exist (although the sales rep did remember it clearly). The used car I bought had an engine light on when I test drove it. The Labadie mechanics cleared the light without reading the code. I asked that Labadie fix any problem if the light came back on and they agreed to take care of it for 6 months. I thought I had that in writing, but I guess I didn't. So, the light went on and off for weeks after I bought the car and I read the code--P0017 [timing chain misalignment], but I didn't take it to service then because the warning light wouldn't stay on. When the light finally came on and stayed on, I took it in for repair and they refused to pay for the repair ($2700 estimate!). At first, the sales agent said it was over 6 months from when I bought the car, but it was only 5 months at that time. Then the managers came in and pointed out that I had gone over mileage on my oil changes (the first over 1000, the second over 3000--but still not something that would cause any actual damage) and used that as an excuse to deny service. Since the fault was present way before I even needed my first oil change, it is obvious that the oil change overages are just an excuse by the dealership to avoid having to fix the problem the car had when they sold it to me. My mistakes: buying a car with an engine light on (though they did clear it) not getting their promise to repair the problem if the light came back on (I thought I had something written, but I can't find it if I did) going over mileage on oil changes (though not related to the problem) Labadies mistakes: Not honoring their promises. Using unrelated excuses to avoid taking responsibility I would have never bought the car if I thought they would not take care of the engine light problem when it came back. I was fooled into thinking that they would take care of it, but I didn't get the promise in writing. None of the managers we talked to about this at Labadie considered or even listened to the sales agent who repeatedly told them and me that I did have that promise made by Labadie as a purchase condition, though it did not appear in the final documents. Labadie did offer to do the repair "at cost" for just $2100--a savings to me of $600! If they aren't honest enough to fulfill their promises, I certainly won't give them any more of my money. More
Lie to make the sale This place is a joke. I spent $28,000 here on a truck that had issues that should have been resolved before it rolled out onto the sales lot. They pus This place is a joke. I spent $28,000 here on a truck that had issues that should have been resolved before it rolled out onto the sales lot. They push ad on sales, false advertise, and give you the run around with anything that doesn't have to do with another sale. I was sold the "Bumper to bumper warranty" ( $2,000) that was "The Cadillac of coverage" because they said it covered everything and I could take it to a local insured shop. 5 months later the AC stops working and conviently the $650 part that needs replaced isn't covered by the warranty. Direct quote from the adjuster at the warranty company, "I wish they wouldn't call it bumper to bumper because it's not." Another lady from the company said, "It's not bumper to bumper but it's the best one you can buy." So now I live across the state (150 miles) and I'm being told that I should bring it all the way back to the dealership to have them look at it because they don't think it's that part that my mechanic says it is even though I read them every test and result that was done on a brand new AC machine. Now I'm forced to make the decision that I take the possibility I get there they find the same thing and I still have to pay for an extremely expensive part or I get it fixed at home. They dismiss you when you talk and once they make the sale they could care less about your experience. Even other staff members say that customers call frustrated often because their "bumper to bumper warranty" isn't actually bumper to bumper. They'll listen to your concerns so you feel like you're getting somewhere, but realistically nothing will be resolved until you make the decision to come blow more money at this place. I've made multiple phone calls and now I'm sitting on a truck that I should have ran away from when I seen the detailing that was done before it rolled onto the sales lot. $1500 later and the truck looks great and probably worth what I paid for (you know, if the AC actually worked). They care about money regardless of how bad you get screwed in the process. More

Charlie Engelhardt makes it worth the 3 hr drive If I'm honest....buying a car is my LEAST favorite thing to do. In fact I DREAD IT!!! BUT this was not the case with Labadie Toyota in Bay City, Mich If I'm honest....buying a car is my LEAST favorite thing to do. In fact I DREAD IT!!! BUT this was not the case with Labadie Toyota in Bay City, Michigan. Charlie was in contact with my husband via phone, text & email including price negotiations, pictures & many questions about the vehicle we were interested in. Most of the negotiations were done PRIOR to arriving at the dealership. Who wants to spend all day sitting & WAITING inside a dealership....now all we had to do was see the vehicle & drive it! We drove almost 3 hrs & were very pleased that it was EXACTLY what we wanted & everything Charlie promised it would be! Charlie knew we were coming from out of town & he actually drove us by our hotel we were staying at & also make suggestions to the best places to eat, while waiting to see the finance guy to finish the deal! We would do the 3 hour drive AGAIN, next time we need a vehicle!! We will DEFINITELY call Charlie!!!!! Thanks Charlie/Labadie Toyota Happy Husband & Wife :) More

Sales staff told me to put the plate from my old vehicle on it because the registration paperwork would be completed in a few days. In a span of the next two months I called Labadie approx. 15 times to inquire about my refistration and tirle. I had several conversations with the general manager, the finance manager and title clerk several times. They all had a different excuse each time I spoke with them, mostly blaming me saying I didn't submit the proper paperwork?? Worst car buying experience I have ever had! More
