I SHOULD HAVE NEVER TRUSTED KUNES My 21 year old daughter and I went to Kunes to purchase a vehicle. It was a rather expensive vehicle We were told by Joe that we had to finance through the dealership to g and I went to Kunes to purchase a vehicle. It was a rather expensive vehicle We were told by Joe that we had to finance through the dealership to get the deal we were getting. So we communicated to Joe the manager that if the financing he offered didn’t work for us we could get a check from our credit union but please do not send it to ANY MORE THAN 3 BANKS. We stressed this emphatically. He said ok. What Joe proceeded to do was send it to 8 banks and then the following day 4 more. Even after I had expressed major concern about him already ignoring what I had asked him to do. I’m sure anybody who is reading this would realize that 12 credit inquiries is bad . If you’re in a management position you should know your lenders programs. I believe this was done intentionally partially because upon first visiting the dealership Joe had an attitude because I didn’t want to pay over sticker and he initially hit me at 10,000 over MSRP which was absolutely ridiculous. When I expressed how asinine I thought that was to the sales person he went back to Joe and I could hear Joe complaining to the salesman at his desk from where I was sitting how about how rare the car is and if I don’t like it I can leave etc. etc. Ultimately Teddy the great salesman went above Joe and got the deal for me that we ultimately agreed upon. I contacted Joe again and asked him why he would send it to eight banks and then four more even after it was stressed multiple times to only send it to three lenders he said” bro what do you want me to do just trying to get it done” is he kidding he wasn’t working with bad credit He could’ve cared less about lying to us going against what he said and how upset we were I then said OK I’ll get a check from the credit union,like I said before you shotgunned it to 12 different banks.Joe then told me if I do that the price goes up 3000. I don’t believe that is fair ethical or professional. Again, I believe Joes actions were intentional I don’t think anybody is that inexperienced or unqualified working at a dealership the size of Kunes. I don’t know how versed anyone reading this is about credit but with 12 Your score will drop majorly. Now if we go to another dealer for sure it will be very difficult to get a loan because of the inquiries. Even though the credit score is above 700. My 21 year old daughter who has been doing a great job building her credit ( and now has 12 inquiries in 2 days) reached out to the corporate office on 28 September and as of yet has not heard anything back. I have not heard from them either. There was no apology, no concern about how they broke their word and lied to our faces. That is just contempt for your customers. If Joe and Kunes were concerned about me as a customer they would’ve reached out to myself or my daughter. In spite of it all we still were paying them $2000 over MSRP (rare car but not that rare) and we were still treated with disrespect and contempt not as customers. Joe had no business going against what we asked him not to do. Absolutely disgusted. Standard vanilla response from dealer to come asking me to. Contact the dealer. For What?? Just more lies. More
I had a great experience with Kunes, it was a bit of a long process but in the end I was able to leave with a new(er) car. We worked with Kirk Lundeen and he was a great help.
