Know your market!  Get rid of the "Next-up" procedure when referring customers to salespeople.  I found a car on "Cars.com" and made an appointment to see a Lincoln Co  Get rid of the "Next-up" procedure when referring customers to salespeople.  I found a car on "Cars.com" and made an appointment to see a Lincoln Continental Reserve.  When I arrived at the dealership I was greeted by Alex the Sales Manager.  He passed me to Ed.  Now, no disrespect to Ed but he resembles one of those people that sells used cars.  Fake and phony.  30 minutes went by as people were scrambling to find the car.  After 30 minutes I went outside to wait.  That's when I met another salesperson named Omar.  He's the only reason I gave them an extra star.  I asked Omar...  what's going on here?  They knew I was coming.  I received 4 confirmation texts and 2 phone calls confirming my arrival... Where's the car?  Omar said it could be that the car had been sold and the website wasn't updated, or it could be loaned out.   That's when Ed came out.  I asked Ed the same thing and he responded by throwing his hands up in the air and saying you can't blame me and walks back inside.  That's what I call a topical Car Salesperson.  THAT"S WHY PEOPLE ARE BUYING MORE ONLINE!  I HATE THE TYPICAL CAR SALESPERSON THAT SHOULD HAVE RETIRED FROM THE INDUSTRY YEARS AGO!   As they were still looking for the car I decided to leave.  15 minutes later Alex calls me and asks where I went.  I told him after being there for 50 minutes I had to leave for an appointment I had previously scheduled.  He asked if he gave me some free oil changes if I bought the car would that make a difference???? in returning to the dealership?  I explained to him I live 45 minutes away and "know" your customer.  I asked him by looking at me would a $29.00 oil change really make a difference in this whole experience?  He knew right when he said it that he wasn't in touch with what was going to determine my coming back in.  He then said, what if I brought it to you?  I told him that I would come back in the morning.  He assured me the car would be there and detailed.  When I arrived the next morning the car was a mess!  The driver's side had dirt and gravel on the floor, the back seats both had dirt and gravel, as well as the passenger seat floor, had dirt and gravel.  NOTHING had been done.  No detailing, no cleaning, nothing.  I was kind of shocked at how nothing was done to the vehicle.  After driving the car both Omar and myself thought that the rough drive was coming from the tires needing to be replaced.  Now, I just replaced the tires on my car so I knew it was going to be another 2k for just tires.  So the car was $27.899.00 and tires would be another 2k.  The car was dirty and the tires were bad but the dealership was still firm on the price.  Hum????  I traveled twice to see the car...  both times the car wasn't ready...  and the car needed 2k worth of tires.  I decided to look at the Telluride and the Palisade instead.  Alex said he would locate one for me but haven't heard from him yet.  It's been 8 days now.      More
