Terrible experience!!! I had a terrible experience with John Paul GMC in Greenfield, WI. Back to last June 2016, I took my Yukon to John Paul dealer for transmission cooler I had a terrible experience with John Paul GMC in Greenfield, WI. Back to last June 2016, I took my Yukon to John Paul dealer for transmission cooler line repair, then we were told the oil pan gasket and power steering line were leaking. Ok, thanks for diagnosing the problems and fixing them. We paid a total of $2,175 for the services, including some unauthorizing repairs, for example, wheel alignment - we did have purchased life time alignment warrant from firestone when we replaced tires there in 2015, why we need to pay additional $100 for alignment? We raised the issue, but no explanation and I ended up paying additional unnecessary $100. Several month later, we found a couple of oil drops on the ground and we did not think that was oil leaking (remember you just repaired the leaking!!). In April, we found more oil drops, so we raised the issue when we did the oil change in April. We were told that it may have been caused by oil change. I trust what they said! But the leaking getting worse, In Sept. 22, 2017, I took my car to the dealer to find out the cause of the leaking. I waited for two hours, then service consultant A. M (I use his initials) told me that oil pan gasket and power steering were leaking and an estimate of about $900 to repair. I was shocked not by the cost but by what he was saying. (remember, we did repair both leaking problems not long ago). The truth was that I knew the power steering was perfectly fine. So I asked to speak to the manager, Nick Harmon offered me a solution to add oil dye to the system to see where is the cause of the leaking, then he will discuss with me how to solve the problem. (OK, sounds reasonable). I returned my car on 10/04/2017, and found out that Mr. M was no longer work there. Mr. Solomon Bunn took the case (He was friendly, I had to admit). Several hours later, I was told that the problem was founded, OILPAN GASKET leaking again!! (The power steering leaking was not mentioned, at least I think Mr. Bunn was honest on the power steering leaking part. Remember, Mr. M just told me that both gasket and power steering were leaking a week before). Then we come down to the issue who should pay the repair cost. Of cause, the customer SHOULD PAY! The dealer has done nothing wrong. OK, I will pay as long as I got my car fixed. Should I also say thanks to NICK? Oh I think so because Mr. BUNN told me that NICK gave me the best deal to only pay $378.52 this time! To fix the problem may take several hours, so I went home and waited Mr. Bunn’s call. Well, I did receive Mr. Bunn’s call in the afternoon and he told me to let the car stay in the dealer for overnight to make sure that the leak problem was absolutely fixed. Agreed and thankful (at this point, I still had the faith to believe that the John Paul dealer is honest with what they said). I eagerly pick up my car next day (Of cause I paid $378.52 before I had my key). Mr. Bunn was smilingly told me with absolutely confidence: the problem was fixed! It felt relieved to hear. If the story ends here, I would not waste my time to write this long and boring paragraph. Well things were getting worse! Several days later, I found a couple of oil drops on my driveway again!!! (I was purposely pay attention this time). I took the car back to the dealer on 10/18/2017. Mr. Bunn was very surprised to see me again and he seems not believing what I had described the leaking issue. Anyway, the car was taken to the shop for a DIAGNISES again!!!. It was pretty quick this time! Mr. Burn took me to the shop and technician showed me where the problem is: The oil leaking probably came from rear main seal and gasket. The repair cost will be $1,300. At this point, any argument with dealer will be useless and pointless. I took my car back without further repair. Here are my reasonable doubts and conclusions for the dealer’s services: 1) does the leaking really come from oil pan gasket in the first place? If it does, first replacement should take care the problem, right? Well let’s say that the dealer did not diagnosed correctly in the first time (sometime it happens), then the second repair should take care the issue. Correct? I believe that Mr. Bunn thought so too!! Then the technician found the different source of oil leaking. Is this John Paul’s regular procedure and practice to fix the oil leaking? 2) Why did Mr. M lied to me about the power steering leaking, I have the evidence for this. Nick knew this lie for sure. I believe John Paul owns me an explanation for this. 3) I paid in full for what dealer asked for even I didn’t agree it was the fair. So I owed dealer nothing, the dealer owed me an explanation. If I can’t get the answer from dealer, I will seek alternative channels to protect customer’s right! All my argument points have the records, photos, and paper written evidence to prove. More
