Unknowledgeable mechanics This was my 1st oil change on my Encore and rather than drive to Rockford (to the dealership I leased the Encore from) I came to John Paul. Within 4 This was my 1st oil change on my Encore and rather than drive to Rockford (to the dealership I leased the Encore from) I came to John Paul. Within 4 hours after leaving the John Paul dealership I received an e-mail from OnStar indicating my Encore had an emissions issue. The check engine light also came on. When I came back to the dealership on Mon. at 7:00 a.m. I explained my situation to the service advisor and he said he’d do his best to get things checked and corrected. I mentioned to him that I had to be at work by 7:30 a.m. and since this was a new job I did not have paid time off. Given the information I provided I had thought the service advisor, tech or mechanic would have checked the oil using the dip stick, saw the oil was low, noticed the dip stick appeared not to be correct, double-checked the dip stick against a manual and said ah let me get the correct dip stick. Instead, it seems as though someone started to pour oil into the oil filler hole until something appeared on the dip stick. At this point, I am told the oil was overfilled so now some oil had to be drained out. I wasted 2 hours of my time in the customer lounge waiting for my car - not at work where I should have been and not getting paid; as I have recently started a new job and do not have paid time off as of yet. Once everything was cleaned up the service advisor told me the factory had put in the wrong dipstick and since it did not seal properly that caused the emission warning and check engine light to come on. The incorrect oil dip stick was replaced with the correct dip stick and the check engine lite reset. I drove the car for 7 months with the wrong oil dip stick and never once did the check engine light come on nor did I get an email from On Star that I had an emission issue. Granted the factory may have put the wrong oil dip stick in the car, but don't your service technicians know what should be in a Buick? You are a Buick dealership! I have to believe it was the errors on your mechanics part that created the majority of my issues. More

It was time for an oil change and tire rotation and although I could go to one of the “quick” change places for less money, I know several people who do that and it rarely ends well. The worker incentive seems to be speed and many times they cross thread the plug causing a leak or spill on the engine and not wipe it off. Solomon Bunn and Steven Buczak have always treated me well to ensure the best experience and outcome. More

Better than expected! Well, I sure wanted to take my comfortable Buick Enclave!!! John Paul's got me in to look at my breaks right away. Thinking I was going to have to pay for a break job, but was told that their expert looked at them and said they just needed a little tweak and they were good to go! WOW...I was extadic I wasn't going to have to "dig deep" to pay for new breaks and my husband had "peace of mind" in pulling our boat... and had my car back before the end of the day. Thank you John Paul's! More
