Kundert Volvo of Hasbrouck Heights

AVOID this dealership and Volvo in general. I bought a new XC90 from Kundert Volvo in April 2009. The sales experience was average and the car started off fine. However, at approximately the 25,000-mile new XC90 from Kundert Volvo in April 2009. The sales experience was average and the car started off fine. However, at approximately the 25,000-mile mark I started to notice a loud/strong vibration any time the car was in gear but stopped. In other words, if the car was in drive but stopped at a red light, traffic, etc or in reverse waiting to back up, it would shake. As soon as the car started moving the vibration stopped. I've never felt this in any other car I've owned. Over a period of almost 1 year, I took the car to Kundert no less than SIX times. Each time, they either said the problem was fixed or there was "no noticeable vibration". I took the car for a road test with the service manager, Mike, who admitted he could hear the vibration. However, after supposedly working on the car for a few days, he told me there was nothing they could do for it - "that is just how the car runs". I even took it to my local mechanic who said the engine mounts needed replacing, however, Mike refused to change them. I pleaded my case to Volvo corporate - representative was Kathy at x1986. Unfortunately, she said each Volvo dealer was run independently and all they can do is advise customers to take it back to the dealer. She said she would open a file for the regional Volvo rep to review, but I needed to take the car back to Kundert. I did - with the same result. Despite the fact that this car vibrated like no other I've been in, apparently this was normal for Volvo. Just a couple weeks ago, I finally quit the fight and traded the car in. I grew up with a Volvo and my family was very happy in the past, but after this I will NEVER deal with them again. I have been advising all friends and family to avoid them as well so they do not end up in the same situation. I work in sales so I think I have a good radar for when someone is pulling my chain and I could tell right away that Bill was a straight shooter. I just bought my fifth Volvo car from this dealer. I had been thinking about changing to another make which brought me to both Ford and Subaru dealers.
