We purchased a used 2023 BMW X1 from Koons White Marsh on September 14, 2026. Unfortunately, what should have been an exciting purchase has turned into an extremely disappointing experience. Almost immediately after leaving the dealership, we noticed significant steering-wheel vibration at highway speeds. We subsequently had the vehicle evaluated by an independent tire specialist and discovered multiple concerning tire issues, including multiple previously repaired/patched tires, directional front tires mounted incorrectly, abnormal tire wear, and a rear passenger tire with significant cupping and inside wear. We ultimately had to spend approximately $1,500 addressing the problems shortly after purchasing the vehicle. We documented the condition with photographs, video, invoices and the independent shop's findings, and we still have the cupped rear passenger tire in our possession. What makes this even more concerning is that we have since confirmed through Maryland's inspection information that this vehicle passed its Maryland safety inspection at Koons on July 15, 2026, approximately two months before it was sold to us. We also reviewed the paperwork provided to us at the time of sale and have been unable to locate the completed Maryland inspection documentation, and we have concerns regarding the completeness of the signed purchase documents we were provided. Perhaps the most disappointing part has been the response after the sale. We contacted the dealership about these issues and subsequently submitted a detailed formal complaint to Koons corporate, including supporting documentation. As of the time I am posting this review, we have not received even an acknowledgment of that formal complaint. We gave Koons an opportunity to address this privately and reasonably. We are still willing to hear their proposed resolution, and I will update this review if Koons responds or resolves the matter. Based on our experience to date, anyone considering purchasing a used vehicle here should carefully review the vehicle, its tires, inspection history, and all paperwork before completing the purchase.
