The reason for my visit to the service department: AWD warning with check engine light on. Charge for reading the code was announced as a minimum of $165.00, plus tax. And none of the code reading charge, which probably took a couple of minutes, could be applied to the suggested part replacement and repair time. Worse part was being informed that the AWD (All Wheel Drive) warning had nothing to do with the AWD system at all. The actual problem was the vcv -- causing leaness, whatever that means. The next worse part was being told about everything else that could be done at this shop, including a cabin filter replacement and tire indicator replacement and lots of other replacements that would have cost hundreds of dollars, if not thousands. No thank you! My car runs fine, and I will buy my own code reader for the next time a bogus code is triggered. More
