He took his time to educate us about the car we were interested in, an experience we never had with other sales men in various dealerships. During the transaction we felt relaxed from the beginning to the end due to Toney's excellent customer service skills. I am now a satisfied owner of a pre-owned Certified Toyota Venza and I highly recommend Toney Jeter when looking for a good pre-owned vehicle. More

But eventually, I was shown a 2010 "Certified Pre-Owned" Prius that was right in my price range and appeared to be in good condition other than some areas on the front bumper that clearly needed touching-up. I asked if any damage had been done to the bumper, and was adamantly ASSURED not. The sales manager agreed to have these areas fixed, so my only final hesitation in purchasing was that the car didn't have Bluetooth. This was an important component for me, because--and I made sure to emphasize this--I wanted to hear my phone's GPS directions through the speakers. But they kindly offered to throw in Bluetooth installation for free, so I decided to purchase the car. I brought it back over the weekend so the Bluetooth could be installed and the areas on the bumper repaired. But when I came back on Monday, the bumper was only fixed in the smaller of the two problem areas, and I did not have Bluetooth. What I'd been given was a little button that allowed me only to answer phone calls, hands-free. No streaming audio, which was the only feature I cared about. The sales manager claimed he had no idea that was what I wanted, but thankfully agreed to install actual Bluetooth and fix the other part of the bumper. Part of the issue here may stem from the fact that I was tossed between two different (and apparently uncommunicative) sales members throughout the entire process. When I called later to check on the progress, I was informed that the body shop wouldn't be open for a few more days. But my new tags had come in, and they agreed to screw them on for me. After about a week had gone by, I was able to pick up the car and everything seemed to check out. I had a real Bluetooth system and the bumper looked fine, other than the fact that they had only screwed on the front license plate with one screw. But I didn't think anything of it at the time and decided not to mention it. The next day, I got on the highway for the first time. Going about 60 MPH, I started to hear a very subtle but concerning sound. It was a scratching sound coming from the front of the car that was starting to grow louder if I kept driving. So I pulled over and discovered that the entire "splash guard," the plastic sheeting that is bolted to the inside of the bumper, had come completely undone from the underside of the car. Not only that, but the bumper itself had cracked all around where the bolts had been shoddily holding the splash guard underneath. Clearly after they'd removed the bumper to make repairs, it hadn't been reassembled properly and didn't hold up on the highway. I immediately called the dealership; the service department confessed that should not have happened, they were so sorry for the inconvenience, and that I needed to talk to my good old friends in the sales department. Of course, rather than taking an apologetic approach, the sales guy snappily told me it wasn't an issue and to just bring it back in. When I got to the dealership, he barely said two words to me other than to ask for the keys. I was irritated enough now to pointedly ask if, while they were at it, they wouldn't mind actually finishing the job of screwing in my license plate all the way. I got a call a few days later that the repairs were complete and I could pick up the car at my convenience. However, neither of the sales reps I'd worked with were going to be there if I came to pick it up that evening. All the better, I thought. But when I came to pick up the car, I was devastated to see that, while the plastic under-guard had been replaced, the cracks on the bumper around those bolts were untouched. And go figure, the license plate was still hanging on by one screw. A random associate brought me my keys and listened unconcernedly as I expressed, in total dejection at this point, that this wasn't fully fixed. And why, whyy can't they at least screw in the license plate?? He said I'd have to take up the bumper damage with the sales guys I'd been working with, but he would be happy to drill in my plate properly. As he goes to screw it in on the left, he stops, mutters "ohh no," and then explains that there's no way to screw the license plate in all the way because the base that holds it is broken. Already knowing the answer, I asked, "and what do you think might have caused that?" To which he responded, "some kind of past damage to the front bumper." I called the service department and insisted on speaking to anyone other than sales. The service manager heard me out and offered to order a new license base and get the cracks fixed. But by "fix," they actually meant "touch some paint on it that looks like Wite-Out." I've taken the car to multiple body shops and all have given me a variation of the same response: "This bumper has past damage and should have been replaced a while ago. You sure got screwed by that dealership..." More

He arranged for the car I was considering to not go off to get some minor body work right then, but to keep it in the dealership so I could get my husband to come and see it. We bought it and took it back in a week to get the body work done. The dealership gave a us a free rental car while we waited for the work to be done. As we bought a "certified car" there also is some sort of technology dinner where we can learn about all the new bells and whistles cars have nowadays and even get a free meal. Very nice! More
