Buyer BEWARE this dealership is very deceptive from the credit app standpoint and sales tactics I visited the location on 30Sep2022 at 1225 pm. The test drive was smooth next was the price conversation. I had my own financing through my credit union, so I only needed a final price to submit to the bank for the electronic payment to the dealership. I did not need any credit services from FCA US. However, I was told that to verify my ID that I had to submit a credit app, I was told this by Gary L and Homer H. I told them that they only need to perform an OFAC check and that I will fill out the document for ID purposes only. I was adamant about that I did not want my credit ran I also included this in the comments section on the credit app. The dealership is full of liars and individuals who misrepresent the purpose of the OFAC check. My next steps will be to file a complaint with the AG of MD and the BBB. In addition, I have already reached out to FCA US to lodge a formal complaint against KOONs, Patrick S, Homer H., and Gary L. Patrick Called me the morning of 01Oct 2022 at 11:11AM. I sent an email to This Patrick S. because after the sale no delivery was performed, no features explained, the fuel was not topped off, all of these items are listed on a checklist that is given to the customer at the end of the sale. This checklist was falsified by the salesmen either Gary L, Homer H, or Patrick S. I received an email after I left the lot with a signed checklist giving the dealership and salesman a 10 rating which I did not do. I would not recommend a single person to this organization. The rude manner in which Patrick S. Spoke to me tells me that he and the dealership have no respect for the customer, and I dare say a customer of color who is knowledgeable and can speak intelligently articulate their concerns with treatment and protocols being followed. This type of behavior can and should not be tolerated. I attempted to post Zero stars however the page would not move forward without selecting a star. More
Word of caution. If you buy a vehicle from Koon’s, I strongly urge you to spend a considerable amount of time looking the vehicle over at delivery because if you find If you buy a vehicle from Koon’s, I strongly urge you to spend a considerable amount of time looking the vehicle over at delivery because if you find any interior or exterior defects (EVEN TWO DAYS AFTER DELIVERY) like dings, scratches, etc., they will NOT make them right. Remember the circus routine with the clown car? This is where they bring the car for service cuz it's a circus of ineptitude. More later....... This is where they bring the car for service cuz it's a circus of ineptitude. More later....... More
Throw the whole customer experience out of the window. This was an utter waste of my time. Mind you i drove 4 hours to look at a Mclaren in which in pictures it looked good. Luckily i went to see it in person and it was not up to my standard that i would expect. And ive seen much better 10 year old cars in much better shape. It was all great when i was there looking at it. Then after my wonderful 5 minute/1 mile test drive in nothing but traffic and lights it all went down hill. When i wasnt impressed with the condition of the car, the "product specialist" which is a great title for someone who knows absolutely nothing about the vehicle, proceeded to try to force a sale on me as if since i took an mediocre test drive down the street and back i was obliged to by a car i didnt feel comfortable in the condition and made comments that people come and test drive cars all the time and leave. As if that wasn't enough we went inside for the usual "pressure" sales talk to try and make it seem as if i dont know what im talking about when it comes to what the car would need. As someone who has been working on cars since i was a child of all makes and models even foreign cars the now salesman tried to tell me about a car and how i was wrong when im the one doing weeks of research and information gathering. One thing i wont stand is someone who tries to guilt trip me or make it seem like im dumb when im a car person who knows what they want and is looking for. Sorry i'm not one who is easily swindled into a car with no knowledge or research. Do dealerships not know that we dont need them but they need us customers. Horrible experience. Will definitely spread the word that this place is not the one to go. Go back to the drawing boards on customer service. More
My husband and I went to see a family car which neither of us had driven before and we were told if we didn’t want to purchase that day then we could not be shown the car or take for a test drive. Looking of us had driven before and we were told if we didn’t want to purchase that day then we could not be shown the car or take for a test drive. Looking to buy a 50k car and will not be giving any business now or in future to Koons. More
Very good experience. No high pressure, fair price and very respectful of my time. Finance office listened to my needs and catered to them. No high pressure, fair price and very respectful of my time. Finance office listened to my needs and catered to them. More
I would have paid more for my vehicle at another dealer if I would have known how awful customer service was following a sale… We were promised the fastest sales experiance ever, it was probably the lon if I would have known how awful customer service was following a sale… We were promised the fastest sales experiance ever, it was probably the longest. Lots of waiting...The car wasn't even ready to drive from 45minutes after my husband, myself and infant arrived. We purchased our vehicle with two VERY VERY SIMPLE open questions….both of which I could have gotten an answer for myself in a 5 min call to their parts department…. That being said as part of the sale of the vehicle my sales team committed to getting the answers for me, so I let them handle it. The first question was like pulling teeth and took 5 emails, 4 phone calls and 3+ text messages to get an answer over the course of almost 2 weeks. The second question remains open to this day, nearly a month after the sale with both the manager (Leo) and rep (Abbas) were nearly unresponsive. Adding to this I had to follow-up over 8 times for temps tags that were expiring...Everyone at every level promised a call back but again I had to drive the wagon to get to it done, ultimately resulting in another 45 min drive to the dealer each way to pick them up. We have purchased 3 vehicles in the past two years alone and can say I have never experienced this much lack of initiative. I am left with the feeling that this dealership has such good new business that they have no intention of wanting or needing repeat customers as they are left to the wayside. I now have my second question answered from a local dealer…it was a 2-minute phone call. Don’t take responsibility for tasks you don’t intent to carry out, very very simple stuff. It will be a shame if this is the only way to get the dealers attention in any way. The one extreme positive from was experience was the finance and service department as they were efficient, effective and followed through with things we spoke about during and after the transaction.
