I did my due diligence to get pre-approved for a loan with USAA. (Which is not the issue in this rant, we have had nothing but excellent customer service with USAA. Members for life!) A service that USAA offer is a car buying service, no haggling – win! You enter the type of car you are looking for and then several dealers send you pricing on various vehicles. Here’s where the story turns downhill… I’ve already driven the Grand Cherokee. I knew the options I wanted. Emailed back and forth with dealers. I found the car I wanted. Sales person sends me the price. I specifically ask if it’s the USAA car buying price. Answer – “No ma'am, the USAA is not included. If you are a USAA member, you can subtract an additional $1,000 from your out-the-door price.” Great, put the deposit to hold the car and schedule a time to come in on Saturday to pick up the car. When we arrived to pick up. The person I was dealing with takes us back to the online sales department to someone else, who obviously had no idea we had an appointment. He has to find the car. While they prep the paperwork, we drive a different car to one lot, not there, then another, to finally find it. Needless to say no one was ready for us. Car is perfect. It’s exactly what I wanted. We come back to the dealership. Paperwork is $6,000 more than the quoted price. Sales guy has no idea what we are talking about. Sales Manager comes in, more haggling. They admit they’ve made a mistake, but aren’t willing to make it right. Worst customer service ever…needless to say, I’m still looking for my car. More

My experience was smooth, it did take a while to deal with paperwork and talk to financing but this is a very busy dealership so it should be expected! Our sales guy Phillipe let me take out my 2018 Dodge charger for a spine after seeing I was in love with the car, and after driving it he had me sold! He was very informative about the vehicle and was very helpful in making the purchase smooth. I came in the next day, spent about 4 hours settling everything and left in the evening with my new ride ! Thank you for the information and smooth transitions. More

Their job is to sell you on EXTENDED WARRANTIES and not to help you with financing, so come prepared with your own loan rate from a bank. I did the math and none of the extended warranties that he said would pay for themselves did. In addition, the one I did buy, I ended up cancelling because what he said it covered and how it had to be paid was not accurate. Koons management did respond and were able to refund my money. More

Our salesmen, made an attempt to carry forward a last minute request, which he ran by the General Manager James Morris, who declined. Having observed, what appeared to be a negative interaction between the salesmen and General Manager, James Morris, regarding our deal. I decided to walk over to where the General Manager, James Morris was seated, to obtain his business card for informational purposes. He right out REFUSED to provide his business card and immediately became combative, asking me “Why I wanted his business card?”. He continued to demonstrate his unwillingness, to provide me with a business card, alongside a few more words of exchange. I was in such disbelief, as his attitude and response was completely disrespectful, unprofessional and discourteous towards me a customer...up until that very moment. I have NEVER been so unwelcome and mistreated, in a dealership that I was about to purchase a vehicle from. This is by far the worst dealership, I have ever set foot in and this experience was all at the hands of the General Manager, James Morris, who made it very clear that our business was definitely NOT APPRECIATED at Koons Jeep. It’s truly a shame that a Senior Manager, would think that it was okay to treat a customer with such disrespect and that an ownership group would staff there dealership with such a person. More
360 Degree Of Greatness I worked with Scott nearly 2 months ago. I was denied financing due to personal credit situations. Nevertheless, I was determined to get the vehicle I I worked with Scott nearly 2 months ago. I was denied financing due to personal credit situations. Nevertheless, I was determined to get the vehicle I wanted. I test drove the vehicle with Scott — being in communication with Scott since my first denial was helpful as he answered all my questions as it pertained to new incoming inventory and credit “what if’s”. Scott was very clear and honest with what he was able to do with my credit situation. Unfortunately, I wasn’t interested. I revisit the idea of purchasing a Dodge Durango SRT, completed the credit application online, and Scott called me within minutes of submitting the application for credit. We worked out the “could have been” a credit mishap — but he explained the situation to me with fidelity. Scott was in communication with me the entire day giving live updates and answering my questions via text and phone calls. He assured me that it was not a need for me to drove to Tyson’s Corner at the very moment but he’ll be sure to let me know after checking in with his finance manager. Scott called explaining that my credit wouldn’t allow me to get an SRT, however, he can put me into a RT. No big deal, they both are great vehicles and have great speed! I accepted. When Scott the word, I got the word “Come by 8pm” .. I was shocked! When I went to dealership, a few minutes early, Scott was readily available to assist me in completing the deal. Shaw, the finance manager, came to greet me and was upfront in explaining everything to me. Even got me a lower car payment and extended some perks along with the sale. I was in and out, the vehicle was cleaned up and Scott explained, in detail, every aspect of the vehicle (mind you it was after closing hours — and Scott did not rush me out). The care these auto salesman professionals displayed was outstanding. I appreciate all the work Scott and Shaw done for me in making this car buying process as seamless as possible. More

One of the biggest mistakes was signing the papers here BUYER BEWARE!!!!! THIS PLACE SUCKS. Okay so I was shopping around for a new car for a while since my moms car broke down and I was giving her my car BUYER BEWARE!!!!! THIS PLACE SUCKS. I went to Lindsay in manassas which gave me a horrible price for a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude Plus, so I came to this Koons and I got a great quote on a car, it wasn’t quite what I wanted so I got what they had which was fairly close. The sales man (FeFe) told me that they didn’t have the one I wanted, so I settled and while the paperwork was getting done with the finance lady (Sonya) which is amazing and super nice, I looked on their website and saw they had the car I wanted so I showed the sales man and he said they didn’t have it in black but they had it in dark grey so I said that was fine, and he tried to convince me to not get the car because he said it was more expensive (it was literally 500 dollars more than the one I was purchasing) so he got really mad and drove me and my mom to their other lot and almost crashed the car we drove there in because he was speeding like crazy and just had a big attitude. So we get back and nobody thought to inform the finance lady that we were switching cars so she could stop the paperwork for that car and start on the other car which I felt so bad for because like I said she’s amazing. I’m total we were there for about 6 hours so at the end I was just happy to have my car and go and the next day I notice they didn’t put an inspection sticker on the car which is annoying because the dealership is pretty far from where I live so I just ended up paying for it at my local gas station even though I paid the fee at the dealership to get the plates, emissions and inspection, but not a big deal, it’s only a couple dollars to get the inspection done. So about a week later I ended up wanting to cancel my extended warranty that I bought because everybody was telling me it was dumb to buy extended warranty on top of the new car warranty, so I contacted the dealership and couldn’t talk to anybody other than the front desk and voicemails, nobody would return my calls or emails. So then I finally got into contact with Michaela who was nice on email but then after when I had another question she never emailed me back or called me back even though I left voice mails. Now, a couple days ago I was getting a ceramic coating on the car so we go to take the koons sticker off the car because that way the detailer wouldn’t have to work around the sticker and honestly I’m not promoting a company if they’re not paying me for it you know so we take the sticker off and the sticker was hiding a chip in the paint!!!! The sticker came off clean so the chip had to have been there when they put the sticker on. So I call the dealership and ask to speak to the general manager and of course he didn’t answer so I left messages and didn’t get a call back. I decided it would be best to contact Jeep so I explained to the guy on the phone what happened and he was also irritated because he couldn’t get a hold of the dealership either so he told me my best bet was to go into the dealership. So I go to the dealership the next day and tell them about the chip in the paint and ask about the cancellation of the warranty since I didn’t get confirmation and my car note is the same. So first I deal with the warranty and mind you, the financed amount is going down since I cancelled warranty but my car note is staying the same and I couldn’t get a paper confirmation saying that I would be paying for less months so I’ll probably still pay my full term and be scammed out of about 2,000 dollars. So then we work on the paint chip, the first guy swore it was just the adhesive from the sticker so we took it to one of their guys and he looked at it and said no it’s the paint, so then we go back to the dealership and I talk to the guy who sold me the car and he says the same thing, that it’s sticker adhesive so I explain it’s not so he said he’d get his manager, so they go look at it and he comes to me kind of angry and had a big attitude and was trying to blame it on me, even though I showed him the sticker and it was clean, so basically he says he can fill the chip in but it won’t look the same or that they can paint my whole trunk door but that it’ll count as a car accident and be reported to my insurance. Which doesn’t make sense since the car came like that. So I opted to have them fill it in, so he told me to wait for my sales guy to set up an appointment for me. I waited ONE WHOLE HOUR, and nothing. So I was already frustrated, I had a headache so i called my mom and she told me to go home, so in total I was there for about 3 hours and accomplished absolutely nothing. This place sucks. I will never buy a car from here again. More

I bought a 2016 Ram Laramie Longhorn, it had some recall stuff so I thought I'd give them a try since I was also interested in the 2019 Rams. My gas mileage had fallen off, 46,000 miles, and I bought new tires so it needed an alignment, $130. The service guy I met at the door, Shawn?, told me i needed a throttle body cleaning. I whined about the cost, $200, since the materials are about $12 and I could have done it myself. Shawn said no worries I can get you some coupons to apply, their web site has a $99 alignment special, he also said he would get an appraisal done for what the trade in would be. Guess what when I went to pick up the truck I asked the cashier what about my coupons, he just gave me a dumb look and said no coupons, so I had to pay full ride. Then he couldn't find the truck since it was parked in front of the showroom< it is a nice looking truck. Shawn had sent me a text telling me to text him anytime, I sent two texts with questions about future service, the truck appraisal, and never received a response to any on my questions, and no one contacted me about a trade in or appraisal, I guess I'll be going elsewhere for my next $60,000 truck since they seem not to be interested, and service will be taken elsewhere since they cant keep their word, oh my mileage is even worse now, 14 miles per gal vs the 16 around town, and 17.8 highway I was getting. If you decide to purchase from this dealer I recommend that you enter the dealership with very low expectations for an honest sales person, honest and attentive management, or anything less than poor customer service. Our sales person was energetic and at first, said all the right things. I was purchasing without a trade so the deal was clean and easy however, we still waited over 5 hours the day of delivery when the entire deal was prearranged over the phone and email, to include the deposit. The lies began when we were offered the Chrysler $1,000 cash back for financing with Chrysler. The $1,000 was real however, the salesman and the finance manager both informed us that we had to make at least 3 months payments to Chrysler to retain the rebate. This is a complete lie, we financed with Chrysler and in the first 30 days we paid off the loan with no penalty. The truth is that if the Chrysler Financing is in place for some period of time, I presume 2-3 month, the dealership gets a kick-back. Second, the salesman, upon delivery, told us to give him all 10's on the customer survey from MOPAR however, we can write whatever we want in the comments while re-enforcing that we give him 10's, regardless of the written comments. With the salesperson's poor delivery, lack of honesty and our poor experience with the finance team I rated the sales person, finance person, and dealership a 5 out of 10. This is where the post sale experience became abusive and the lies continued. The salesperson began to call me and tell me I was taking money from his pocket and that I was dishonest and that he wanted me to re-do the survey and GIVE him all 10's. At the same time we noticed we did not receive the VA inspection Certificate Receipt and asked the Salesperson for the document. In short, he lied and said he needed a good reason to get the receipt and that if I were to update the survey with all 10's he would get me the certificate. Over the next few days the salesperson emailed and called me to get me to update the survey and telling me at the same time he was having issues getting the Inspection Certificate Receipt but, if I did the survey he would send it to me. In the end, he continued to lie until I contacted the Virginia State Police Inspection Division and informed the dealership that if they did not provide the certificate I would turn it over to the Virginia State Police. The salesperson finally emailed me a scan of the Inspection Certificate Receipt that was time stamped and dated a full three days earlier, while all the time he was telling me he could not get it, that is until I gave him an all 10's rating. If you decide to purchase here, be aware, trust noting, and verify, verify, verify! A report was also filed with MOPAR who have been very helpful and by all accounts honest.
