BUYER BEWARE- SCAMMERS AND UNSAVORY BUSINESS PRACTICES. I thought that the days of fast-talking, and unethical car-sales practices were a thing of the past, but these are the common-place practices at Koons thought that the days of fast-talking, and unethical car-sales practices were a thing of the past, but these are the common-place practices at Koons Jeep and they make no apology. At Koons Jeep, they double-sell cars, take and hold deposits on cars already sold, as well as bait and switch vihicles. I went into Koons with the intention of buying a specific car my sales-man was Leo. Because I came in the evening (Wednesday), the finance person was only able to run my application by one bank and told me that they were unable to run my financing by many banks because they were closed and would have to do it in the morning. I did not hear back from him despite placing multiple calls to ask for the different interest payments and monthly rates. Leo texted me to check on status and I made it clear that I was waiting to hear back on other interest rates/payments, he made no follow-up trying to find out the other rates. Because I was very interested in the car I followed up multiple times asking for these rates, but received no contact back. Due to work conflicts I was unable to make an in-person visit until Sunday. I called Leo to tell him I was on my way, but was a little surprised when he discouraged me from coming and recommended I come on Monday. I explained that I could not wait or come in on Monday due to my work schedule and came in on Sunday. I had not driven the car, so I requested a test-drive. When went back into the office, I again asked about financing with other banks. At that time, I received another offer a 2% lower (I am not sure how it is possible to do this in the evening on a Sunday, but not in the evening on a Wednesday). However, with this one step completed, I was ready to move forward. I paid $3,000 down on my debit card and was asked to present the other $2,000 down in a check. I did not have my check-book on me as I was never told that a maximum on only $3,000 could be put on a card and I was asked for proof of residence. I signed and received a sale receipt, but because they were closing, I would complete paperwork and pick-up my Jeep on Monday after work. I was assured by Leo that car would be ready for pick-up the following day and he showed me how the only key was taken off of the key-bar and would be placed with the manager until pick-up. This demonstrated low motivation and lack-of professionalism with you doing more work to buy a car than the sales person, but it was a means to an end. When I got home, I received a call from an un-named individual who only identified himself as "the manager." He stated that my car had been sold that morning and they were awaiting verification of a check, which they could not do on a Sunday. I do not understand how a vehicle can be sold twice and how unverified funds take precedent over verified funds, but this whole thing sounded fishy. The manager said that he would speak with the auction manager to get me the same car- enter the bait and switch. The next day, I called Leo multiple times to try to understand what happened and why I paid for a service that was now completely up in the air. He did not return any of my calls, but did pick-up after several call attempts. When I spoke with him, he was aggressive and blamed me, "you couldn't make up your mind." When I reminded him that the delay was because of financing and my mind was very clear from the very beginning he gruffly just responded, "we will get you a car when we find one, but you ask for too much" (because I want a certain car color and interior). At the end of the day, I am disturbed that there seems to be no accountability for double selling the car, that I am being pushed towards an unknown car that was not the car I wanted and not the car I "purchased", my money is in "limbo land" with claims of a refund, and blaming the bank for a delay in receiving my refund (maybe don't take money if you can't provide a service). I am surprised by how unethical and abrasive this entire process has been and WILL NOT DO BUSINESS WITH KOONS. More
My service rep (Victor) was fantastic and really took care of me. I knew something was off and before the tech saw my vehicle, Victor accurately assessed what was wrong to include major work that needed care of me. I will continue to go back to Koons for servicing because of reps like Victor. More
Cody, Terry, and Donovan were a pleasure to work with. As a result, Koons Tysons will be my first stop on future vehicle needs. I obtained superlative customer service to a reasonable price. They sent me wrote this review over a month ago. They still have not gotten back to me about the navigation system they ordered that we prepaid for. They sent me a text about feedback and hoping they met my expectations but haven't responded on any of crap they've neglected. Worst service of our life. We diagnosed our check engine light and it was a simple issue of replacing a thermostat. We called ahead, dropped it off Sunday for a Monday 7 am appointment, and didn't hear back until Wednesday. It doesn't sound like they honored the appointment at all. Then in the middle of the workday they said they needed the warranty information - which their office assured me they could pull from the Koons system when I called and asked specifically about that. They used that as a pretext to justify the delay in a a two hours job. It's now been ten days without our car, and we have had to babysit Koons every step of the way, calling them multiple times a day after talking to the warranty, reminding them to contact them and provide invoices, having them blame us for not providing warranty info while we were at work which caused about a six hour wait, and the Koons rep said "Well, I called but they put me on hold for so long." It's still your job! Koons also insisted we need a coolant flush but that our warranty wouldn't cover it even though it was necessary for the thermostat - then insisted we don't need to call them and check, because nobody ever covers it (???). Of course, when we did get in touch our warranty confirmed it wasn't necessary, so that's an extra $250 out of pocket that we shouldn't have allowed. Plus, our warranty said they got the invoice Tuesday morning of this week, even though Koons told me they filed the paperwork last week. We have been trying to pick up our car for three days and if I didn't continuously contact both sides I think this would go on for three more. The worst part is we'll have to take it back because their delay in ordering means the new navigation system isn't here yet, but we literally need our car. And forget a loaner, certainly nobody offered. Disrespectful, lazy, and dishonest service. More
This was our first online vehicle purchase - and it was an amazing experience! Rasheed Fard was our main sales rep, and he got the job done with minimal effort from us. And he delivered the new car to us an amazing experience! Rasheed Fard was our main sales rep, and he got the job done with minimal effort from us. And he delivered the new car to us instead of making us go get it. Every new car we've bought in the past involved spending several hours (or the whole day) at a dealership. This time: filled out some online forms, shot a few emails and texts back and forth with Rasheed, had a five minute phone call with Tracy in financing, and I was meeting Rasheed in person outside my house with our new ride by lunch time. Rasheed was great at his job - friendly and professional the whole way through. They even handled taxes and tags for the car - we DO NOT have to go to the DMV!!!! Anyways, I would highly recommend buying a car like this from Koons to anyone. Hopefully you're lucky enough to work with Rasheed. More
