Great experience buying a car out of state I live in New York but couldn't find the model + options I wanted. After being told by several local dealers that it was going to be "impossible" to get the car I wanted, I widened my search and found one at Koons. I was able to negotiate the entire transaction over two days via email. There wasn't much to negotiate — the WOW price was what I paid. They were also willing to take the window tinting off before we got there, which was helpful. After a seven hour drive the entire transaction took around 3 hours, which was a little long, but to Koons' credit they took the time to show us all the features on the car. There was only one hiccup, which turned out in our favor: we'd been told we'd pay 0.9% financing. About a week after returning to NY with the car Koons called and said they'd made a mistake and should have given us 0% financing. The paperwork delayed their ability to get new plates and registration, which meant having to get a second set of temporary plates, but they were very responsive and FedExed everything. We got our new plates quickly after that and we're all set. Between the upfront, no-hassle negotiation via email, the ease of transaction and good price, it was worth traveling to Virginia from NY. They were even willing to take a personal check, which helped because it would have been impossible to get a bank check on a Sunday. I would highly recommend Koons to both local and out of state buyers. More

A Liar. Told me he would help me out with a service issue the day the vehicle was sold to me. Then, after not hearing back from him and I had to call him AND after the exchange time had passed, he sai issue the day the vehicle was sold to me. Then, after not hearing back from him and I had to call him AND after the exchange time had passed, he said it was a closed sale and there was nothing he could do. Hung up on me on the phone. Had to contact the General Manager who helped me with the simple issue. More
Wow! From the start, I told Darrell that the service department forgot to call me to let me know the part for my vehicle had come in and I had to wait. I was told b another service representative that it was going to take 4 hours to install shocks (I think it was shocks, can't remember). He asked if I could drop the car off, I told him no because I didn't have a ride. When I had a ride, no one called me. Once I told Darrell I wasn't happy that I now had to wait 4 hours, he apologized and said he would do all he could to expedite the service so I wouldn't have to wait that long. During my wait, he kept me informed the whole way as to what they were doing and why. He was great, pleasant to deal with and I felt he was being honest in his assessment of my vehicle. Why? Because some of the information he told me had already been told to me by someone else, that's why I felt like he was being honest. He was GREAT and I would come back to Kia simply because of him. You should think about hiring people that know how to do their job and most importantly know how to treat customers. This was the worst customer service I ever had. I would never recommend your dealership their job and most importantly know how to treat customers. This was the worst customer service I ever had. Today I purchased a 2013 Optima..yeah. I first visited the store last Sunday...the numbers weren't meeting my expectations...so we left. I've been to Koons Kia in Woodbridge on two occasions. The first was to meet with a dealer from MD that met us there to drop off a new car. The Koons staff accomodated us with their facility and services The first was to meet with a dealer from MD that met us there to drop off a new car. Where as this is a good place to buy a car do not have any work done there we were told 2 hrs it has been 4 hrs as of now and still waiting no one has come to tell us why or even offer a drink.
