We purchased 2024 KIA Sportage X-pro prestige on Dec 27th 2023, we went for test drive with 2024 KIA Sportage X-pro prestige gray color car ( it had all advanced futures with home link), but at the 27th 2023, we went for test drive with 2024 KIA Sportage X-pro prestige gray color car ( it had all advanced futures with home link), but at the negotiation we requested color white and we paid additional $500, but they give me a 2024 KIA Sportage X-pro prestige white car but it doesn't contain basics feature like Middle mirror Dimming and Garage opener (HomeLink). when we called them sales team saying that i have to check window sticker. when i went for test drive i checked for 2024 KIA Sportage X-pro prestige gray color car it has all the advanced futures, but we didn't checked for White color car sticker detail and they put that sticker sheet in dashboard, when we called the Koons Kia Owings mills sales department they are saying that is my mistake, we are not really happy with this Koons dealer sales department. basically sales team cheated me(at test drive they show me a high-end car but after deal gave a low-end car). . i didn't except this cheating from Koons, we lost our happiness and not enjoying the ride because all together we spent $45K and got low-end car. I received a promo in the mail for $65 for oil change and checking systems on my car. Short story...$ 65 turned into $130. Service rep was apologetic and understood this was very misleading. Not going to checking systems on my car. Short story...$ 65 turned into $130. Service rep was apologetic and understood this was very misleading. Not going to create a hassle for myself over this. I am in the market for a new car. I would have paid the $130 without bad feelings in the first place! I like the Kia line but would travel far and wide to buy one but not from this dealership. More
We purchased a used car from this dealership on September 4th. It needed repair on Sept 28th and was within the 30 days from purchase so we returned it to the dealership. We did not need a loaner. The commun 4th. It needed repair on Sept 28th and was within the 30 days from purchase so we returned it to the dealership. We did not need a loaner. The communication is beyond horrible, we have had little to none! We still have no idea when we will ever get our car back. We would never recommend this dealership for buying a car AND we definitely would NEVER recommend this dealership for service! The general manager has no interest in helping customers. We wish we would have known before we chose to shop here for a used car. More
I went to Koons Kia of Owings Mills for a non-crash related body issue. The door would not open from the inside but would open from the outside. The service department took a long time to do the diagno related body issue. The door would not open from the inside but would open from the outside. The service department took a long time to do the diagnostics finding out one of the cables that open the door broke. My car was not involved in any accident and it broke before hitting 25k miles and 1.5 years. Service department told me that it will have to be my out-of-pocket fix for over $100 after discussing with the "supervisor" of the service department. I asked for contact information of the supervisor and still haven't heard back. I had to pay to get the fix since I desperately needed the car but I became hesitant of choosing Koons Kia of Owings Mills as a place to get the service done. More
My first experience & it will be the last with Koons. Purchased a used vehicle on 7/15 & have yet to receive the title. It is presently 5 weeks & a few days later. I've been informed the dealership is no Purchased a used vehicle on 7/15 & have yet to receive the title. It is presently 5 weeks & a few days later. I've been informed the dealership is not in possession of the lien release & therefore, the tags, registration etc. cannot be processed. It is illegal to sell a used car without possession of the lien release. In addition, I was overcharged on the registration fee. The car weighs 3247lbs & therefore should be $135. Finance charged $187.00 which is for a vehicle weighing 4000lbs. The outcome is still pending. Further action may be required. More
Whatever you do, absolutely do not buy a new or used car from Koons Kia. Here's a breif rundown of my experience. I called June 10th inquiring about a 2017 Honda Odyssey. We agreed on a price over the from Koons Kia. Here's a breif rundown of my experience. I called June 10th inquiring about a 2017 Honda Odyssey. We agreed on a price over the phone. I came in and gave then a check that day( on a Saturday). Came back the following Monday to do all the paperwork. - had to of been the easiest sale possible. When we came back Monday to pick the van up somebody hit it with their car causing a huge dent in the rear quarter panel and bumper. So they said to bring it back in and they would take care of it. No big deal and was happy they were going to take care of it. - the first red flag came up though. They said it happened while it was being "detailed" the van was just as dirty as when I came in the previous Saturday. I specifically remember the clump of dog hair right in the middle of the back seat. This starts a long process of them saying they're taking care of something when they're not doing anything at all and just hope you don't notice. The following day. We picked the van up on a monday, so Tuesday I was following my wife who was driving the van and I was in my work truck. The van was smoking like crazy out of the exhaust indicating a serious problem. I called them, brought it in and they gave me a loaner. They said they were still going to "take good care of me". Thursday that week they called me saying the van was done and ready to pick up. They said they "decarboned" the cylinder heads. If you look at the Carfax less then 20,000 miles ago the cylinder heads were just decarboned. So 1. If there's that much carbon building up in >20,000 miles then there's a whole nother issue going on. They were just hoping they could tell me something that I have no idea about and hope it would please me. They're preying on people lack of knowledge on mechanical issues, passing it off on them so they could not be stuck with the engine issue. I then told them they need to take it to a Honda dealer to be properly diagnosed or I want my money back. A week went by with me calling every other day just to get an update. - that's not asking a whole lot. And crickets. "Ohh he'll call you back",. "they're in a meeting" is all you ever hear with then saying I'll get a call back shortly. Never anyhting. Last Friday I got so sick of not hearing anything I drove into to the location to speak to then in person. They were nice and said they were going to cut me a check and it is what it is. I was very happy with the outcome. He said they would overnight it so by first thing next week we would be good. It's now friday. I called yesterday to get an update and also saying I'd like to come grab some items out of the van because it's no longer ours. "Give me 10 minutes and I'll call you back". Never heard anything. I called an hour later and got ignored. Called first thing this morning and same thing- crickets. The thing is if they would simply say "hey we're crazy busy can I call you tomorrow.". Or shoot even if he said, " I have no idea what's going on, give me a few days and I'll figure it out". That would be so much better then "I'll call you in 10 minutes". And never hear anything back. So at this point I'm waiting for a check back from them for a van I bought and paid for that was hit in their parking lot while it was being "detailed". Ignored a ton, and they tried taking advantage of me by saying they fixed the issue with the engine when in all actuality that motor needs serious work. We had the Van for approx 18 hours total. So unless you like calling a bunch of lawyers, the attorney general office, the BBB and spending tens of thousands of dollars and not knowing what's going on then I would highly recommend saving the absolute nightmare it is to work with these guys and go somewhere else. Shame on Koons Kia and the management. On a side note Justin my salesman was awesome, super cool guy. Everyone else at this More
