I walked in the dealer with nervous anticipation. I finally decided to get a new car after a very long time. I had little exposure to Hyundai and didn't know what I wanted in the line. David Rutkay introduced himself and began to explain the history of the cars. He then showed me the different models I had to choose from. David's warm, friendly smile and professionalism was all I needed to know I was in the right place. After one test drive, a little background information; he found exactly what I was looking for. My next hurdle was finances. David walked with me to meet Oscar Sanchez. Oscar greeted me with a smile and had everything ready to expedite the process. He reviewed every document with as much detail as I requested; and at times that was considerable. The knowledge, quality and superior work ethic of this team goes far above service excellence. I will continue to recommend David, Oscar and this dealership to friends, family and co-workers; it is definitely worth the few extra miles to drive to get such incredible treatment. Thank you! More

After my vehicle broke down and I desperately needed a car, I went to Major world in Long Island City Queens. Major world was awful and so I went to Long Island City Hyundai instead. Juan was excellent and extremely helpful and by the end of my trip I financed a 2010 Hyundai Sonata with 40,000 miles. Oscar Sanchez helped me a lot during the finance process and I felt like I was in good hands. I could not leave with my newly financed car because it was too late, so we made plans so that I could pick up my new car on Monday (3 days later). I was told that by Monday (3 days later) my car would be detailed and a broken mirror would be fixed. I could not pick up the car on Monday because there was an issue with my insurance and everything was fixed by Tuesday. I came in on Tuesday and waited for a half hour or so to speak to Oscar Sanchez and re sign my paperwork. After Oscar delivered excellent customer service I was told to go upstairs and get my car. This is where everything went downhill. Juan Vadi sold me the car, but was not in that day, so Carlos Grullon helped me and said that I had to wait for my car a while because it had to be detailed. Why wasn't my car detailed by Monday is beyond me, because that was the promise and I came to pick it up on Tuesday and no detail. Two hours later Carlos comes to me and says heres the keys to your new car. I looked at the car and said no this is not my car. The car I saw was beautiful and in gorgeous condition, but the car I was picking up had dents everywhere and paint all over and it looked terrible, but Carlos insisted that this was my car. I thought that maybe they tried to rip me off and I spoke to Carlos about it and he said "This is the car you bought" and "Enjoy your new car". I left the lot with the car because I had no other options of transportation, but I wanted my fiance to help me trade in the dinged up car somehow. When my fiance got in the car he saw (I never bothered to check the mileage) that the car had 71,000 miles. I panicked and hurried back to the dealer. When I arrived it was made clear that I was given the wrong car. When they brought the car I really bought, it had a great body and 40,000 miles. There was one problem. My real car was never detailed, and no one had fixed the broken mirror. I was promised new floor mats and a detail wash as soon as possible, but they were closing that night so I had to make an appointment. I made the appointment and had my fiance drop off the car (I live in Staten Island) and I received a call later in the day and I was told the detail person called out. All that I wanted was a detailed carwash, floor mats, and seat covers, but they don't care about making me happy. Im driving around in a dirty car when I was promised a clean car with floor mats (it could be worse, I could be driving around in a car that isn't mine and considered stolen) But they are "so sorry". Beware with this place because they are sorry, but they make your life impossible. They make a mistake and you pay for it over and over again. It's been a week already and no detail, or any other things promised to me. I purchased a warranty with the dealer, but I already see them keeping the car for a long time, rescheduling things, charging me for things that they said were on the warranty but aren't actually on it, and basically telling me lies. This was the first car I ever bought, and although it started off very well, it has become a nightmare. Now I have to bring the car again (remind you I live in Staten Island and have a full time job) and have it detailed if they ever make me an appointment. Perhaps I should listen to my father and pay for the detail myself somewhere else, but before I do that, I am going to make sure that people see this honest and accurate rating of Long Island City Hyundai. I was leasing a 2010 Hyundai Genesis with 9 months still remaining on it and I wanted to trade it in for a new lease on brand new 2012 Tucson Limited. Everyone I dealt with was professional and, unlike othe remaining on it and I wanted to trade it in for a new lease on brand new 2012 Tucson Limited. Everyone I dealt with was professional and, unlike other dealerships I have been to, I was able to negotiate a deal that was very fair. I would have no problem returning to this dealership in the future and would highly recommend them. More
