Jessica, my name is Bill and I am the GM of Sales at Kirksville Motor Company. I apologize, I've been out of town the last two days and unavailable, so my team was following the one exchange policy that we do have in place. I am able to make exceptions to that rule myself and when it comes to mechanical issues, you are correct to say those exceptions should be made. I have not spoken with my team about this yet, but I will let them know that I am allowing it. Please do keep in mind that with pre-owned cars there can be unknowable issues that do pop up after the fact. They don't always rear there ugly heads right up front. Obviously, it is quite unusual to happen to the same person back-to-back like this. I completely understand being frustrated and disappointed. You mention that Jim was great, but that the overall quality of the dealership was lacking. Was there something else that was a problem or only the issues you described here? I never want us to disappoint a customer, so if there is something else our team needs to improve on, please let me know.

Thanks for the quick reply! The clear explanation of the policy would’ve helped. I didn’t receive that with either vehicles. Yes, I jumped the gun and purchased both without fully inspecting the vehicles throughout. But I was desperately needing a vehicle, due to our previous one being stolen. I just had a little more faith that the dealership completed a more thorough inspection of the vehicles before they are available on the lot.

I understand the perspective about the exchange policy. As far as the inspection, I would hold our reconditioning process amongst the best dealers. Unfortunately, even with a thorough inspection, there are things that don't show themselves right up front. If the vehicle is performing properly at the time of inspection there is only so much that can be predicted.
