Dishonest, Rude and Unprofessional This is the first time I ever have felt the need to review a place. First, I called here to find out if an F150 was still available, which a guy named Lucas told me ye time I ever have felt the need to review a place. I told him I was an hour and a half away but I would make the drive to test drive, and he told me no worries. After driving half way there, Lucas called me and said "Actually the truck is on a loaner, can you come in another time". Told him fine, no worries and we scheduled another day, even though my time and gas was wasted I was willing to let it go. Then the next day, he begins texting me out of the blue saying "Let's agree on numbers and make a deal! We can't take the car from a customer unless we agree on numbers!". Immediately I was thrown off because I did not give him my number, nor did I want somebody, who I still have not met, to text me. I told him no, we aren't going to agree on numbers when I haven't even driven the vehicle. He said "Agree on numbers and i'll bring the car to you". Again I said no, I have not even seen the vehicle we won't be talking numbers. Lucas said he was "fighting with his manager to let me see the d*mn car before we talk pricing". Despite his profane language, I agreed on a time that worked for both of us so I could look at the vehicle, which was 10/9/22. During the test drive, it was clear Lucas did not know a thing about the truck. He was looking up everything, and playing around with the settings, and couldn't answer any question. After test driving, they threw a number at me that was over 10,000 over the listed price. I told them no, we are too apart, and the lowered it to 5000 over the listed price, told them no we were still to far apart but I thanked them for their time. After driving home, I texted Lucas if the "KPP" ($2995) is mandatory, which he said yes but they would lower it to 1695, to which I told them we had a deal. Knowing I live 1 hour and 30 min. away, @ 4:15, Lucas demanded I come sign before they close at 6:00 pm. He said we could do it if I made it by 6:00, but not if I was there at 6:01. I told him I could put a card down as a deposit or docusign, until I could make it back there a few days later which he said no. I told him I'd try to make it before close, so I rushed back. The interstate had an accident, which caused it to shutdown. I immediately called Lucas to let him know I wouldn't make it but I would still be able to come in a few days later. Lucas then said "my manager (JT) said it's a deal for today only". I told him sorry, we wouldn't be able to do the deal then. Lucas then said he would ask JT on Monday if I could do the same deal on Wednesday. On Monday, Lucas said no, the best the could do was $2500 higher than our agreed deal. I told him no, a deal is a deal but if they wanted go back on our agreed price then I'd look elsewhere. I then get a voicemail from JT, which says "Hey Evan, just wanted to ask you a few questions about what's going on". I call him back 20 min later, and left a voice mail and then waited for 24 hours, where he didn't call me back. I tried calling again, and he didn't answer. Finally after the 3rd time, he picked up and said "Can I call you right back? I have to finish this thing really quick". I told him sure . Then minutes turned to hours as I waited to be "called right back". Finally I called again, and no answer. About 10 min later, JT called back and said "Best we can do is xxx ($300 more than agreed deal) and that's if we remove the KPP". Which is what Lucas told me was mandatory, and not only is the deal more than our originally agreed upon price, but also without the warranty. Do not shop here, at least not with Lucas and JT, as they will treat you poorly, use profane language, go back on their word and try to squeeze as much $ out of you as possible. They clearly don't care about their reputation, or their customers, would you really trust them to put you in a quality vehicle that will keep you and your family safe? If they aren't honest with their customers, who knows what they are hiding about the items their inventory? I found a the same year, make and model with more specs, less miles, and less owners for 2,000 cheaper with a much more enjoyable experience after all this. Don't trust a word they say. More
If you want your time wasted and if you want to get banged over the head with pricing and unnecessary addon's, this place is for you. I'm sure half of the reviews here are fake so buyer beware. More
Wouldn't budge on a $1300 "reconditioning" fee on a 2018 Acadia with only 36,000 miles on it. Was told that was "to get the car to pass MD inspection." If a 4-year-old car with low miles needs that much "reconditioning," there are bigger issues, unless the tires were replaced or something, and they clearly weren't on this vehicle (they had very little tread left, would need to be replaced almost immediately). UPDATE: Their sales manager called me on seeing this review on Google. He started with stating, incorrectly, that it was their "King Protection Package" that they didn't want to remove, not the "reconditioning" fee. It was not, as they had already removed the protection package that I did not want to buy. From there, he said that it was just "not something they were going to take care of," so I told him that just means that my review stands, because there's just no way they did $1300 worth of reconditioning on the car. Then he decided to make it an argument, literally whining like a child saying that this just "didn't go my way." Why any business would follow up a negative review with a phone call to say, basically, "deal with it" is beyond me. If I could turn this review in to negative stars, I would. More
I wouldn't touch this dealership when purchasing a vehicle AT ALL. I called to make sure that the Denali was still on the lot and I was told yes. If I had known this we wouldn't drive 40 miles and on top of that they tried to low ball us on our trade-in. They also tried to slide $1,695 for some paint protection without us knowing. STAY AWAY!!! Customer service at King GMC is extremely poor from service technician all the way up to management. Every receipt states if you are not satisfied, to speak to the service manager, however neither he service technician all the way up to management. After twelve excellent years of service to me as their customer, King has reneged on its commitment regarding my Yukon Denali purchase. Excellent Mr. Goggin was polite and even checked a few extra items for me! No EXTRA CHARGE!! They also washed the car.
