I called about a vehicle listed on their website, and was told (by Karlee Hill) that the listed price (which was MSRP from the window sticker) was the actual sales price. I specifically asked if there was a told (by Karlee Hill) that the listed price (which was MSRP from the window sticker) was the actual sales price. I specifically asked if there was any additional dealer markup or market adjustment or "extras" required that would add to the price. She promised me that "the listed price is the sales price" so I drove over an hour to purchase the vehicle. When I got there, they would only sell me the vehicle if I purchased their "protection package" that consisted of a bunch of bogus crap, and was absolutely worthless since it wasn't backed by Ford - only the local dealership. That "required" protection package added about $11,000 to the $36,000 vehicle's price. That's a bit over 30% markup. Needless to say, I walked out of there without purchasing. I would have been OK paying a small additional dealer markup, had they been up-front and honest about it... But no other dealership in the area is demanding 30% above MSRP for their vehicles! If you want a Ford, I would encourage you to drive to either West or Georgetown where you can deal with an honest dealership that won't try to rip you off, or waste your time lying to you. More
Was told by sales associates that I would not be able to order a vehicle without purchasing LoJack, a windshield warranty, and other nonsense that I do not need. My wife set an appointment to look at a Ford Explorer on November 11. She already had financing ready. We test drove the explorer and it was going great at that point and the salesman even verified the pri November 11. She already had financing ready. When we sat down after the test drive they added about 4k onto the price. We told them that we didn't want the extras. They then informed us that the extras were already added on the explorer and could not be removed. This would by definition be part of the vehicle, which would make this a bate and switch or false advertising. This is really bad business practice. The finance manager met with us and we expressed our concerns and he went to speak with the GM and was told that nothing could be done to honor the original price that was advertised (which would make this false advertisement). They wasted about 2 hours of our time with an hour drive time one way to the dealership. More
