I felt incredibly pushed into the extra fees they added with their warranties and was told I had no other option but to take them and pay almost 10K more than the advertised price because of it. Very poor experience. Killeen Certified listed a VW Atlas online for $38,707 on cars.com and on their website. We live out of state so I called. Our dealings went as such: Killeen Certified listed a VW Atlas online for $38,707 on cars.com and on their website. We live out of state so I called. Our dealings went as such: 1. They will not discuss numbers over the phone but took a deposit to hold the car. I knew it was a risk but thought it was worth a try for the price. 2. We flew in and our salesman was on vacation-we had no notice of such, even though he and I were emailing back and forth that day. His last email was, "Perfect we will see you soon." Management assigned a salesman until another walked in and said he made arrangements with the first salesman to handle the sale. On to salesman #3. 3. I asked the price-it was $700 more than cars.com and $700 more than when I put a deposit down. Killeen would not honor the $38,707 cars.com price because I didn't have a screenshot of it. I never expected them to raise the price after I put a deposit down. 4. Then Killeen would not accept our pre-approved loan financing because it was out of state. They ran our credit report 3 times and offered us a rate 1.25% over our already approved rate. We have excellent credit and the rate should have been much lower. We initialed a financial form to determine payments. The cost of the vehicle portion was blank. When I asked the salesman why he said it was just for payment info, don't worry about it. 5. Because the car was a demo Killeen Certified discovered that we had to transfer to their Killeen VW dealership because the car had never been registered. We now moved to a different building. 6. We arrived at the other dealership and the Killeen VW Finance Director had to start everything over at VW. He wanted to pull our credit report--I said no way. He used our already-pulled credit report and offered a lower rate but still 0.45% higher than our pre-approval. 7. After 6 hours into the purchase I asked again what the cost of the vehicle was. He looked at us blankly because the form we previously initialed now showed costs. This was the first we had seen it completed. Mind you, it was blank four hours earlier. The cost was still $700 higher and fees were almost $8,000 higher than the $38,707 advertised, bringing the car to MORE THAN A BRAND NEW ONE in our state. My husband told him that we could have bought a new one in state for less, which I showed him on my phone. 8. Fees included certified pre-owned fees (~$1,600), reconditioning fee (~$1,600), GPS anti-theft fee (~2,000), and window tinting ($695), plus more. Nowhere on the dealership website does it list such fees. 9. I asked at the first dealership for the CARFAX. Luckily I read everything because they had removed the GPS that they were trying to charge us the anti-theft for. I showed the finance manager the CARFAX and he removed that fee. 10. Had we seen the cost breakdown earlier in the day we would have addressed the issue or walked out. When my husband becomes the voice of reason in the conversation, you know that I'm done and it's bad. The final agreement waived all the fees if we bought the VW Drive Easy 96 mo./85,000 mile warranty for $2,225. I'm sure they charged extra for it. 11. A month later and the car is still not registered. I called to ask and they said they needed a copy of the insurance. In fact, you do not need to show insurance in order to register or title a vehicle in our state. The dealership finally submitted the DMV application today, a month after purchase, to their third-party DMV vendor and said it will take 4-6 weeks. Killeen's Warranty manager said there is no way to expedite it. 12. I plan to refinance the vehicle with our original pre-approval and lowest rate. However, Killeen is again killing it because I cannot refinance until I have the registration. Even with a financing approval extension, I doubt that it will be completed on time. Because again, it's already been four weeks. I hope that you can use this information for better service. The things I learned: *screenshot the price before you go *don't expect them to honor the price *expect $8K+ in fees *continue to READ everything *don't sign or initial anything without the form completely filled out, no matter what the salesman says *we would never have flown 3,000+ miles if I had read their reviews first *We purchased from Killeen VW, who tried to make things better but it was still higher than the advertised cost *we have previously purchased out-of-state vehicles sight-unseen, with our preferred financing, walking out with the vehicle within 2 hours of great service versus 7 hours of consternation So, good luck if you decide to go with Killeen Certified or Killeen Volkswagen. We would never recommend it. Sincerely, Still waiting for our registration More
Crooked. I'm reporting them for violating the Texas Administrative Code for automobile advertising. Added $3,000 to the sale of the vehicle for line items no I'm reporting them for violating the Texas Administrative Code for automobile advertising. Added $3,000 to the sale of the vehicle for line items not permitted to be added after the advertised sales price. Since other complaints similar to mine are all over Google and KBB, I'm hoping the AG will take this seriously. They are praying on military members in Killeen and need to be stopped. First attempt at financing they said I would owe double what we discussed as a down payment. I called xx and they reduced it to "Just $3,000". When I said I will pay the advertised price, plus the legally allowable TTL they said that was not good enough, so we left. More

They list cars at the low end of fair market value but require about $7,000 of mandatory service coverages. Misleading business practices. Stay away require about $7,000 of mandatory service coverages. Misleading business practices. Stay away More
The prices listed for vehicles on this dealership's website are not as they appear. I came to this dealership in the hopes of trading down to save money on gas and payments. I told this to the first sa website are not as they appear. I came to this dealership in the hopes of trading down to save money on gas and payments. I told this to the first salesmen that attended to me. After getting the trade value of my truck and seeing I had a positive equity, I chose a vehicle. With my usual self calculations, figured with the positive equity, I would be way below current payments on the truck I was trading in. I was then passed off to another salesmen, who time after time assured me my payments would be lower. I was then passed off to another salesmen, #3. A couple of hours had now passed and none of the salesmen had showed me or talked to me about what the total price would be. Finally I was told we got you under where you wanted to be. Still not shown any numbers. I then went in to see finance and still no one had verbally told me what price I would be paying for the vehicle. Come to find out, they add on almost $10k to every vehicle. This price includes ttl, which is always tagged on to the price. It also includes $4200 for a GPS system they say us hardwired into the vehicle and you don't have the option of not getting it. They also charge you $2200 for what they labeled as paint and wind. Not one person mentioned these mandatory inclusions to the price of the vehicle. So the vehicle I chose was listed as $22,478.00 on the site. Then on the paperwork the price went to $25,700 and then after all the other add ons to $29,567.00 !!??. Vehicle nor the extras are worth this. So please do your research. Avoid this place. More

If I could give a negative rating I would. These guys are crooks! I came in with my own finances from a well know bank in central Texas. They said they do use them but are going to charge me m These guys are crooks! I came in with my own finances from a well know bank in central Texas. They said they do use them but are going to charge me more for the vehicle verse the advertised price. I told him I don't want them to shotgun my credit. The finance manager said "we won't shotgun your credit, we'll just run it through 3 different creditors that we like". Omg dude that is literally shotgunning my credit. I went somewhere else the next day. Best decision I've ever made. Killeen certified is ripping our service members off and they shouldn't even be in business. More
I bought a 75k car from Killeen 3 weeks ago. Worst experience buying a car. Cedric was a good sales guy. Management is awful. I dealt with Mike(General Manager) and Will(Finance Manager). I sent Worst experience buying a car. Cedric was a good sales guy. Management is awful. I dealt with Mike(General Manager) and Will(Finance Manager). I sent a wire for over 40k and financed the rest with in house financing. I was told car is ready for pick up and sent my driver to pick up the car. He arrived and they would not release my car. They held my car for 5 days until they got the check from their in house financing. Very shady practice. I was told it was because they had a big loss selling cars to a fraudster. I was told by MIKE I was going to be reimbursed for 850$ for delivery of my car. 3 weeks later no check in mail as promised. MIKEs word means nothing! Also, I paid for Apex Protection GPS and they will not release it over to me. When I call APEX they say Killeen has to release it to me. They have not 3 weeks later. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM HERE. AWFUL EXPERIENCE! I am currently on Hold with Killeen Certified 3 weeks after I bought my car dealing with them. IF you read this go elsewhere. I will call you guys everyday until I get my check and you release APEX for my car. Ready to get Lawyer involved. Your name is mud! **Just spoke with Steven he promised to get check out to me and Apex released. We will see. Apex Finally released now we wait for check. I will keep this review posted until then. *****8/29/22 update after 1 month still waiting on 850$ check owed to me I called them today. In the last month they have gone through a General Manager and a Finance Manager. They screwed me out of 850$ Their word i=s trash go somewhere else! More
